Volkswagen Beetle Transforms! Voice Actor Yasuyuki Tai Reviews "Transformers: War for Cybertron WFC-09 Bumblebee" Part 2 [Yasuyuki Tai's Toys and Games Vol. 5

In this popular series, voice actor Yasuyuki, who loves robots more than anyone else in the voice acting industry, plays around with the latest toy toys and toys that interest him! This time, we introduce the popular character Bumblebee from the latest in the popular "Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy" series!

Part 5: WFC-09 Bumblebee

This time, Bumblebee is transformed into a genuine Beetle, firmly licensed by Volkswagen!

The instruction manual includes instructions from the robot mode that is included in the package, so we will introduce him here from the vehicle mode. What do you think of this figure? This was the third commercialization of Bumblebee that I personally did not expect, since the same Vehicle Mode was released in the MP series and also in the SS series of the "Bumblebee the Movie".

Even the wheels and rear bumper are well reproduced Beetle.

The front and rear are also as you can see.

Even from the side, it looks like a miniature car. But of course, this one transforms into a robot!

Looking at it from the back, you can see that each part of the robot mode is packed tightly together.

It's just like the one we had at home, "Fight! Super Robot Transformers" (left). Bumble was a mini-bot at the time, so the vehicle mode is a deformed version of the original. The image shows a comparison with the red version in a different color.

The rear of the Bumble at that time was designed like a Choro-Q. As mentioned at the beginning of this article, the Bumblebee presented here has been reproduced so well that it has been licensed by Volkswagen, so the workmanship is completely different from that of the product at the time.

Various weapons and other parts are included. It can be combined with various types of equipment. These parts can also be equipped in vehicle mode.

Black parts are in the center of the body. Gunmetal painted parts are attached around the rear tires. Skids are attached around the front wheels. Then ......

It becomes water ski mode, which was really seen only a little bit in the first animation. Does anyone remember this mode!

In addition, the vehicle mode has another appearance.

Remove the rear cowl,

Move the arms inside to the position of the arms on the upper right side of the photo. (Left side is before moving)

Raise the pin on the inside of the rear cowl,

Connect to the same place as in the vehicle mode again.

Combine all the accessories into one bazooka and connect it to the shaft inside the rear cowl.

Tank mode (?) is completed. is completed. This is the first time to see this form, but it seems to be a toy original mode. You can also play with it in this way that only toys like this can offer.

Now, let's transform it into robot mode! Let's go!

Let's resume the explanation of the transformation from the state in which the rear cowl was removed.

Unlock the front and split it to the left and right. Lift the driver's seat up a little.

Fold the front tires to the underside of the body and raise the body.

Turn around, fold the door panels, unfold the rear tire area, put out the arms, and raise the middle part of the body toward you.

Open the driver's part of the body and stow the hood. The rear tire panel is also opened fully, and the arms are fully exposed.

Close the chest, orient the shoulders, rotate the lower body 180°, and lower the arms to complete the transformation of the main body.

Finally, attach the rear cowl parts to the back and you have ......

Bumblebee, Robot Mode is complete. The vehicle mode was a realistic beetle, but the robot mode is the long-awaited figure we all know and love! Will this familiar transformed Bumblebee be seen in the latest version of the "Earthrise" animated series?

Let's continue with a look at how this latest Bumblebee figure moves!

The head has a ball joint connection. The head is ball-jointed and moves well, except for the elevation angle, which is not very high. There is no light-collecting gimmick this time, so even the back of the head is shaped just as it is in the movie.

The shoulders, arms, etc. are all a combination of axis joints this time, but the rotation of the shoulders, roll axis of the arms, elbows, etc. can be moved well.

The hips have a rotation axis, which is also used in the deformation, allowing for a large swiveling motion. The base of the hip joints can also be raised more than 90 degrees horizontally, and the legs are equipped with a roll axis. This will be a powerful tool for posing!

The hip joints can be raised about 90° forward and backward, and the knees can also bend 90°. The ankles can swing inward this far, so ground contact is quite good.

This time Bumblebee is brave and often performs this kind of action.

The large ankles are very stable.

The weapon can be split and held on the joints of the two arms or on both arms.

The black parts can be connected to the shoulders, so they can be equipped like shoulder cannons. The rear cowl on its back can be held in the hands and used as a shield.

There are joints on the forearms, so weapons can be fixed to the arms like Megatron.

Shield can be attached to the arm joints like this.

If you try hard enough, you can hold it with both hands. ......

You can also reproduce the sniper posture.

And if you connect the stand to the joint at the waist, you can display the figure in a more drastic pose,

You can also display in a more drastic pose! Bumblebee is very active!

As you can see, compared to the original Bumblebee. The ankles and body parts remain the same, but you can feel the evolution that has taken place over the past 30 years.

As for the back, is this Bumblebee similar to the G1 Gold Bug?

Ha! No way, even in this series, there will be an evolution and redecoration to the Goldbug! I'm excited!

So, I brought the G1 Goldbug!

Yeah, I've got it. I thought this could become a Gold Bug just by changing the shape of the face! So I will show you a little more of the G1 Gold Bug if and when the time comes!

So, what do you think of Bumblebee, reborn with the latest technology?

We highly recommend this item for those who are watching the new anime, and for those of you who feel nostalgia for this figure.

Now, what items are waiting for you next?

Enjoy the fun!
