K-POP girls group "DREAMCATCHER," which sings "Eclipse," the opening theme song for the second cool of the currently airing anime "Kingslade: Successors of the Will" appears on Akiba Research Institute!

DREAMCATCHER is a 7-member K-POP girl group that has attracted worldwide attention for its rock sound and powerful performance, which is rare in Korea. The girls, who have been active worldwide, will release their fourth single CD, "Eclipse," in Japan on March 24, 2021.

This song is the opening theme for the anime "Kingslade: Successors to the Will" which is currently airing its second season, and adds color to the work.

─ ─ Have you been playing the "Kingslade" game or watching the anime? First of all, please tell us how interesting "Kings Raid" is and what you think of it.

Gahyun: First of all, the graphics are very vivid and beautiful. I am sure you will find your favorite character in the game.

Yoo-hyun I also like the story and pictures of the characters in "Kings Raid" and enjoyed playing the game! After all, it's fun because you can enjoy it with your eyes as well.

Jiyu The game was fun to watch because of the flashy action scenes. Also, I could clearly feel the emotions between the characters, which made me feel more involved in the game.

Dami: The action scenes can be played in "auto mode" or "double speed," so I was able to play without getting bored. It was also interesting to be able to create my own strategies in the action scenes, such as placing the characters as I wanted and attaching better equipment and jewelry.

Syon I thought that the probability (actions that might be taken) and relationships between characters were special and solid compared to other titles.

Handon I am not much of a game player, but I enjoyed "Kingslade". The pictures are beautiful and I found the fun of the game while playing Kings Raid.

Sua I don't play games very often either, but the pictures of the characters are very beautiful and there are many different characters, so I think anyone can enjoy this game.

─ ─ You are going to sing the theme song for the second season of the "Kingslade: Successors of the Will" anime.

Sua - "As expected, "Kingslade" had everything planned out!" I was very impressed. I really liked the details of the animation and found them intriguing, so I was proud to sing the opening theme.

Jiyu: I wanted to work with "Kingslade" again in 2019 because of the success of our first song "Deja Vu," which was our first collaboration with them on the game app. Also, I have wanted to sing the opening theme for an anime since my debut, so I am honored to have another good start together. I am happy!

Yoohyun I am very honored! Thank you so much for believing in us and entrusting us with this project. We did our best to live up to your expectations.

Dami I am surprised and grateful that you gave us another chance.

Jiyu ─ ─ It is an impressive song with a rock sound that fits with the dynamic of "Kingslade" and lyrics that express the emotions between the characters in a dim and powerful way.

Dami This song is like a message I send to you, who can't reach me, with my feelings.

─ ─ Please tell us about some impressive episodes during the recording process.

Sua The song itself has the power to lift my emotions, so I was very excited throughout the recording. I remember that I recorded the song with the feeling that I had to keep running.

Jiyu: Ever since you collaborated with "Kingslade" on "Deja Vu," I was very impressed with the relationship between Carsel and Frey. I could feel the sad pain and resilience of these characters in the lyrics of "Eclipse," which made me more invested in the song. Also, I was worried about my pronunciation, but the director complimented me on my pronunciation, which made me feel good. (Laughs)

Yoohyun: After I received the lyrics of the song, I tried my best to sing the part I was singing in a way that I could feel the background and the energy of the song, as well as my emotions.

Dami: It was more difficult for me because I had to sing both singing and rapping.

Siyoung: From the beginning of the song, I had to capture the audience's hearts with my voice, so I worked hard to make my voice the most beautiful I could. I also thought my pronunciation was getting better and better. (Laughs)

Ga-hyun Yes, that's right. We recorded the first song first, and recorded the second song later, but the second song had a different charm from the first song.

Handong I first received the lyrics written in Korean with the Japanese pronunciation, but for me it was easier to read them in Chinese, so I rewrote them one by one in the Chinese reading and practiced. (Mr. Handon is from China.)

Soo Ah - The song is dumb, but you can feel the power of the song. Please listen to it while feeling everything.

Jiyu: You can feel the sad and hazy ...... from the intro at the beginning of the song. However, after that, the rock sound brings to mind powerful action scenes! I think the gap between the two is the key to listening to this song.

Yoohyun I thought the collaboration between "Kingslade" and the song was really great! I hope you can enjoy them together and get emotionally involved!

Dami I think there will be more synergy if you listen to the song while watching the anime.

Siyeon The lyrics of "Kingslade" are a good depiction of the world of "Kingslade" with its ups and downs!

Ga-hyun Since it is the opening song, I think it is good to listen to it together while watching the animation.

Handon I thought it was a great song from the first time I heard it. It is full of energy and I think it makes good use of the features of the animation.

─ ─ Among K-pop groups, DREAMCATCHER is different from other groups with a hard-rock sound, but what do you yourself think about the appeal of the group's sound?

Sua: I think it brings out my own inner coolness.

Jiyu I think the main attraction of the music is that everyone who loves rock music and everyone who loves K-pop can enjoy it at the same time. And all the songs are good!

Yoohyun First of all, I think DREAMCATCHER's songs are easy to get into. I think that the slightly fantastical elements, plus the members' ability to express themselves, help define DREAMCATCHER as an original genre.

Dami I think the "DREAMCATCHER-ness" is what makes it so appealing. We always try to convey a new feeling while keeping the rock sound we are looking for.

Siyon: Is it the rough-and-tumble charm of ......? We are proud of the fact that we, DREAMCATCHER, have our own thing within the rock genre.

Ga-hyun As you said, there are not many grooves that deal with the rock sound, so I think the newness of it is its charm.

Sua - "Ano Natsu He" from "Spirited Away"! You should listen to it too.

Jiyu: I like "The Unchanging Thing" from "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. Maybe it is because I have listened to and sang this song a lot since I was a child, so I feel especially affection for this song.

Yoohyun I often watch movies. I often watch movies, and I like the opening song "Nandemo nenai ya" the best!

Dami: "Your Name is..." I like "Mae Mae Mae Sei", "Nananaiya" and "Sparkle" of "Kimi no Na wa.

─ ─ Are there any points you pay attention to when singing Japanese lyrics?

Sua: Pronounce the lyrics as natally as possible. Whatever the language, I am equally careful about the content of the lyrics, the tone of my voice, and all aspects of my technique.

Jiyu: Nothing in particular. I really don't. If I had to say one thing I pay attention to, it would be to sing naturally.

Yoohyun It's still the pronunciation. I have a very strong "T" pronunciation to begin with, so I had to pronounce the Japanese "dago" with a very light "D." It's very difficult! It is very difficult. （It was very difficult.)

Dami I still pay attention to pronunciation, but I also practice so that I can make the most of my feeling.

Shi-yeon: No matter what kind of songs I sing, I always pay attention to the emotion, but when I sing Japanese songs, I have to pay attention to the pronunciation first. I try not to sound unnatural when people in Japan listen to my songs. ......

Ga-hyun If the pronunciation is not correct, it will lose its power of communication, so I pay special attention to the pronunciation.
