Theme song by RAISE A SUILEN is Japanese rock with feelings of hatred! Interview with Raychell and Ayasa Ito from the cast of the new original anime "Disturbance"!
The production of a new original animation "Disturbance THE PRINCESS OF SNOW AND BLOOD," which will begin broadcasting and distribution in the spring of 2021, has been announced.
The work's TV anime broadcast will begin in April 2021, and a stage production with the same cast as the main cast has already been decided. The animation will be produced by BAKKEN RECORD and directed by Susumu Kudo, who worked on "Cinderella Nine in August" and "Ghost in the Shell: ARISE border:4 Ghost Stands Alone. The story is set in an if historical world based on modern Japan and seems to have a very hard taste.
The first news of the music video has become a topic of conversation, with impressive phrases such as "The time is Meiji 64" and "Yoshinobu Tokugawa, still alive and well". For this interview, we spoke with Raychell, who plays the role of Erena Hanakaze as a voice actress and performs OP/ED as the band "RAISE A SUILEN," of which she is the vocalist, and Ayasa Ito, who plays Asayo Nakamura.
─ What is your impression of the work "Disturbance"?
Raychell: I was shown the advance PV, and my first impression was that it was cool. The world view created by the images, sounds, and colors was something I had not seen before. So I am looking forward to seeing how the work will turn out from here.
Ayasa Ito (Ito): I can feel the weight of the work. Each of the characters has their own background and background, and I think this work makes you think about "what it means to live. The theme of "revenge" may remind me a little of the daytime dramas my parents used to watch when I was a child.
───What did you think when you were chosen to appear in the film?
Raychell I don't have a lot of experience as a voice actor, but I think it's a big challenge for me because Elena is a role that I have never played before. I hope I will be able to play the role while finding the various things I can draw from within myself.
Ito: I was really happy and I was looking forward to playing the role of Asayo. I wanted to do my best. I had never heard the word "riot" before, so the first thing I did was to look up the meaning (laughs).
Raychell The kanji characters are also difficult (laughs).
Ito: First of all, I hope that many people will become familiar with the word "riot.
Mr. Raychell
─ What is your impression of the character you play?
Raychell Elena was born to a French father and a Japanese mother, and her appearance has a lot of her father's color. She is both a novelist and a prostitute, and I think it will become clear how she came to be an executioner. She is a person who is honest about her feelings and cannot lie, and her likes and dislikes are very clear. I admire her way of life. She is a prostitute, but I hope I can give her the feeling of being embraced by a man rather than being held by him. I am looking forward to playing Elena.
Ito: Asayo's father and mother were killed when she was very young. Because of this, even though she is still a child, I think she has experienced more than other children her age. In public, she is cheerful and stout-hearted, but when I see how she feels about snow, I think she is more mature than she appears to be.
─ ─ What did you keep in mind when playing your role in the PV? Please tell us about your future plans for acting.
Raychell She is a person who is honest about her feelings, so when she is being held by a man. When I am in contact with snow. When I am interacting with children. I am a person who clearly expresses her emotions and likes/dislikes according to the other person. I hope to put my emotions into my glossy existence. When talking with the director, I am dry when talking with snow. When talking with a man, I should be gentle.
Ito: Asayo is a child, but I was conscious of not making her too young. I hope that I can play the part with importance to the part of her enjoying her normal daily life and her complicated feelings and conflicts toward Sakiba.
───What communication did you have with the director and staff before your first performance in the PV?
Raychell: The director told me that Elena has the most human emotions. She is probably the character that shows the most growth in the story, so he told me to show that while living with the flowers.
Ito: I heard from the director and producer that Asayo is "an innocent being. Yuichi Imaizumi, the sound director, directed me to give her a realistic, human-like performance.
Ayasa Ito
─ Is there anything you would like to challenge in "Disturbance"?
Raychell: I have no experience in doing voice acting in action scenes with movement, so I would like to study how I can do my voice in the midst of movement.
Ito: I think that the important thing in this work is the person's life and the humanity that can be seen in it, so I hope I can do my best to bring out Asayo's humanity in my play.
───Raychell's previous roles include the role of Layer in "Bandolier! I think that many of the characters that Raychell has played in the past have been an extension of her on stage, such as Layer in "Bandolier! As a voice actor, how do you feel now that you are playing a personality that is completely different from your own?
Raychell I have always been a singer by profession, and Bushiroad's work gave me the opportunity to work as a voice actor. When I actually experienced it, I thought that voice work was really fun. I was given the role of Erena Hanakaze in "Doran," and I don't think I can play the role with my current skills, so I feel that I need to go beyond what I am doing now. I would like to continue working as a voice actor, and I am determined to devote my life to this role.
─ You have a difficult role, with your glossy side.
Raychell That's right! I'm trying to figure out how to make my performance glossy, and I'm learning from watching various people's plays.
─ It seems that Asayo Nakamura, the character you play, has a rather heavy past.
Ito: Yes, I read the scenario beforehand. So, I hope to carefully perform and create the story while imagining Asayo's feelings and the future development of the story.
─ ─ I heard that you are planning to play the same role in "Disturbance" on stage. I know you are just starting to prepare for the role, but can you tell us what you imagine yourself playing on stage?
Raychell I am looking forward to it! Looking at the visual of the anime, I wonder if I have to wear blonde hair (laughs). (Laughs) I'm also really looking forward to dressing up as an oiran (courtesan). Elena uses a rather long whip as a weapon, so I'm wondering what kind of action she will have on stage.
Ito: I kind of want to fight too, but since I play a child, I wonder what will happen.
Raychell Why don't you just fight with a daikon radish (laughs)?
Ito (laughs). I'm nervous about what will happen! Is the costume going to be a monpe? I will be wearing it for the first time, but I think it will be easy to move around in. I would like to study it with child-like movements in mind, so please look forward to seeing how it will turn out!
─ ─ Mr. Raychell is in charge of the opening theme song "EXIST" as RAISE A SUILEN (RAS). How do you express the world of the work through your music?
Raychell The song has a Japanese taste that has never been seen in RAS before, and the lyrics and sound have a world view that I wrote for "Disturbance". I am also conscious of the Japanese image in the way I sing, and I put my fist in the air. In the direction during recording, I was told to include feelings of hatred, which was impressive. So when you listen to it in full size, I think there are parts that make you think, oh, that's scary (laughs).
Ito I see!
Raychell I sing with a lot of hatred (laughs). I am in charge of the OP and ED, and the OP is an up-tempo song that expresses that hatred, while the ED, "Embrace of light," is the exact opposite, a song that expresses motherly love and receptivity. The two songs seem to express the light and shadow of this work, so please pay attention to the difference in the way they are sung.
Ito: It was cool and exciting with a Japanese taste, and I thought, "This is how it's going to be! I thought, "This is how it's going to be! I can't wait to hear the full-size version of the song, as it fits the taste and worldview of the work perfectly. I can't wait to hear it in full size. I'm also looking forward to seeing how it will look when combined with the opening video.
─ ─ I heard that you are also looking to expand "Disturbance" overseas. Can you tell us about any episodes in which you felt the excitement of anime fans overseas?
Raychell We usually perform live in Japan, but we have had live viewing events overseas as well. Many people overseas have been exposed to our sound. When I participated in overseas events, I was very surprised to hear local people singing in Japanese, and I realized that people overseas are also enjoying our music. I would like to spread "Doran" around the world and deliver it so that people overseas will say "JORAN.
Ito: When I performed at overseas events, I was also very impressed by the fact that they sang in Japanese. They came in cosplay and welcomed us enthusiastically. I was very impressed by their enthusiasm, so I hope this work will reach them as well, and I am sure that anime fans overseas will also like this work.
─ ─ Lastly, please tell us about the highlights of your work.
Raychell The work depicts a world that is completely different from the one we live in today. I am sure that the weight of life and the sense of values in living are completely different from today. How can we live in such a world and live like human beings? I would like people to see how they live in harsh circumstances while finding hope for tomorrow. It is a different world from ours in terms of lifestyles and values, but I am sure that there will be some similarities between them. A lot of people have been involved in this project, and it is just getting started. I will do my best to convey the charm of the work through my role as Erena Hanakaze.
Ito: Every week I get nervous, wondering what is going to happen the following week. It will be a thrilling work that will make your heart pound every week, wondering what will happen the following week. I am sure that once you take a look at the film, you will be fascinated by the world view. The visuals are wonderful, and the storyline is exciting. It is the kind of work that will make you tense up and concentrate on watching it, so I hope you enjoy it!
