Hikaru Midorikawa and Eiji Hanawa will appear in the TV anime "SHAMAN KING," which will air from April 1!

New characters and cast members have been announced for the TV anime "SHAMAN KING," which will begin airing on April 1, 2021 (Thursday).

SHAMAN KING," a popular comic book series by Hiroyuki Takei that has sold more than 35 million copies, tells the story of a boy who can see spirits, Ip Asakura, who participates in shaman fights to determine the top shaman, and fights alongside his friends to become the Shaman King. Currently, a new chapter, "SHAMAN KING THE SUPER STAR," is being serialized in "Shonen Magazine Edge" (Kodansha).
It will be adapted into a completely new TV anime in April 2021. Based on "SHAMAN KING" (35 volumes), the series will be drawn to the end.

Regarding the TV anime "SHAMAN KING," Hikaru Midorikawa will play Silva, a young man of the Patch tribe with long black hair and one of the "Ten Festival Masters," and Eiji Hanawa will play Karim, a strong-looking man who is Silva's best friend.

Silva: Hikaru Midorikawa
A young man of the Patch tribe with long black hair. He is one of the "Ten Priests" who have especially strong power among the Patch Tribe who run the Shaman Fight. He uses the accessories he wears as mediums to control five animal-shaped spirits, and fights with them in a transformative manner.

──Can you tell us about the appeal of this work?
I am always on edge, so I am touched by Ip-kun's "loose" behavior. It is really cool that you are not only relaxed but also decisive. I wish I could be like that. Also, that system called "Mochirei" is very attractive to me, from the kitchen-typed Midorikawa's point of view (^_^;) I want my own Mochirei too!

───Can you tell us about your enthusiasm for playing the character of Silva?
I am very happy to be able to play Silva again. Now, I am rather stable in my low tone, but I think it was not so bad last time.　I think I had a certain amount of difficulty performing low-pitched plays. Now that I have more leeway, I'm going to try a more austere Silva. Enjoy. ♪

A strong-looking man and Silva's best friend. He is multi-talented and versatile, and is well-liked by everyone in the Patch clan. His spirit is Black Sickle, a bull.

───Can you tell us about the appeal of this work?
When the work was serialized, I looked forward to it every week and bought all the comic books. I am truly honored to be able to participate in this work. When asked about the charm of the work, I think back to the time when I was a child, and the cool and cute characters drawn by Mr. Takei are the most appealing, but the way the lines are phrased, the choice of words, the tempo of the dialogue, the quirky characters, the many exciting developments, and above all the ideas of the possession combination and the oversouls.... The idea of possession combination and oversoul, etc.... the list goes on and on.

───Can you tell us about your enthusiasm for playing the character of Karim?
I love Karim. And since I am a fan of his work, I would like to remove the one-sided image of him from my mind and approach the role from a new, flat position. I will do my best so that not only the fans of the work, but also those who are experiencing the work for the first time through this anime will enjoy it.
