New spring animations, including unique and original works, are all lined up! The "2021 Spring Anime Popularity Poll" has started!

The spring season of major TV programs is finally upon us, and to coincide with this, Akiba Research Institute's official poll project, "What to watch next season? Spring 2021 Anime Popularity Poll" started today, March 17, 2021 (Wed.).


Every year, spring is the season in which many anime works appear. This year, too, quite a number of works have been released, and as many as 51 anime works have been nominated for this year's poll. From among these, we would like to ask you to vote for the works that you are looking forward to seeing. We would like you to vote for the works that you are looking forward to seeing. Seven votes per person. You may vote for all of the nominated works, or you may vote for multiple works. Please feel free to vote for the works you are looking forward to seeing.

To help you vote, we would like to introduce you to some of the most popular works of this season.


First of all, the fifth season of the popular "My Hero Academia" will start this spring, based on the manga series. Also of note is "EDENS ZERO," a popular science fiction work serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine. Another notable work this season is "SHAMAN KING, " a completely new modern revival of "Shaman King," which has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since 1998. The work about women's soccer "Sayonara me no clamor," which was serialized in Monthly Shonen Magazine by Naoshi Shinkawa, the creator of "April is Your Lie," and the Tsugaru shamisen-themed "Mashiro no oto" are also works that fans can look forward to. Also not to be missed are"Shadow House," a mystery serialized in Weekly Young Jump, "Fruits Basket The Final," which will finally be completed, "Moriarty in the Land of the Rising Sun (2nd season)," a sequel to a popular work, and"Gokushukyuu Michi," which has been made into a TV drama. In terms of romantic comedies, "To Call It Love Is Too Strange" is also a dark horse.


Next, let's take a look at works based on novels. The first one of note is "86- Eighty-Six," a war story by A-1 Pictures. Based on a light novel that won the grand prize at the 23rd Dengeki Shosetsu Taisho (Dengeki Novel Award), the staff is also very promising. Also of interest is J.C. STAFF's "Combatants, I'll Send You! by J.C. STAFF is also an interesting one.


In the otherworldly reincarnation genre, "300 years of defeating slimes, and before you know it, you've maxed out your level. The story features a cast of splendid voice actors, including Aoi Yuki, and seems likely to be popular as a warm and fuzzy fantasy work. Similarly, "Seijo no Mahou ga Banryoku Desu" (A Seijo's Magic is Universal) is a unique work with a worldview of a work x otherworldly reincarnation story.


In the romantic comedy genre, "Shave Your Beard. And pick up a high school girl." and "A romantic comedy in which a childhood friend never loses " are noteworthy. Super Cub, " a coming-of-age story about a moped "Super Cub," is also likely to be popular, especially among motorcycle riders. For girls, "Bishonen Tanteidan" is also a must-see.


A number of original works are also expected to appear this spring. Of particular note is "Zombieland Saga: Revenge," a sequel to a disturbing work that has been very popular on Akiba Research Institute. Noteworthy are "MARS RED," which depicts the world of vampire warfare in the Taisho era, and "Disturbance THE PRINCE OF SNOW AND BLOOD," which describes a hypothetical situation in the Meiji era if the Tokugawa family had continued to rule the world.
