General director is Katsuyuki Motohiro! Gundam Build Real," which brings Gunpla battles to life with live action and CG, will be available from March 29!

BANDAI SPIRITS and SUNRISE have teamed up to deliver "Gundam Build Real" as a live-action "New Gundam Build Series" starting Monday, March 29, 2021.

Gundam Build Real" is part of the "Gunpla Link Project," a project to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Gunpla in 2020, and was produced by Sunrise under the direction of Katsuyuki Motohiro. This special video was created by compositing live-action CG Gunpla battles into a coming-of-age drama of high school students.

Hiro Suzuki (16): Ryutaro Yamazaki
A first-year high school student. He is the pilot of Team "Bright. He is a leader, but is short-tempered and clumsy. He is loved by everyone around him for his straightforward personality, both good and bad.
He aims to win the competition as a team.

Takumi Shimizu (16): Toruya Nojima
A first-year high school student. He is a build (in charge of assembling and painting the aircraft) for the team "Bright. He is a gentlemanly and dexterous person, but he is mentally weak.
He started building Gundam plastic models under the influence of his father when he was in elementary school.

Kentaro Narita (16): Issei Otomo
A first-year high school student. He is a programmer (PC technician) in Team "Bright.
He is a studious and knowledgeable person, but a cynic. His calm words can lead the team to hope or despair.

Nakamaru Taichi (16): Kikuchi Ginga
A first-year high school student. He is the C3I (in charge of communication, command, control, and information) of Team "Bright.
He is a sociable person, but is a good-natured high-school debutant. His parents are real estate agents. The team's secret base is also owned by his father.

Matsumoto Sota (16): Raizo Ishikawa
A first-year high school student. He is the alma mater of Team "Bright" (in charge of assembling and painting weapons and armor). He is a genius, but has a cool side.
He became a household name in the Gunpla battle world as a result of his original painting of Nanahachi's Hyper Bazooka, a.k.a. "Armageddon," when he was in elementary school. The painting technique used on the "Armageddon" has been confirmed to have more than twice the status of a regular Hyper Bazooka.

Katsuyuki Motohiro

Born in 1965 in Kagawa Prefecture. He made his theatrical debut in 1996 with his first film "July 7, Sunny Day".
He made his theatrical debut in 1996 with his first film, "July 7th, Haru", and in 2003, "Bayside Shakedown 2: Rainbow Bridge! He also directed the stage version of the 2015 film "The Curtain Rises" (written by Oriza Hirata and starring Momoiro Clover Z). Recent stage productions include "Stage PSYCHO-PASS: Virtue and Vice" and "Momoiro Clover Z Special Performance".
HTB's 50th anniversary drama "Channel is as it is! won the Grand Prix in the TV category at the 2019 Japan Commercial Broadcasters Association Awards. His recent film works are "Ajin" (2017), "Beautiful Dreamer" (2020), and "Brave - Gunsei Senki" (March 12, 2021).

■Yuwa Tanaka
Born in 1982. Born in Tokyo. After graduating from the Japan Academy of Moving Images (now the Japan Academy of Moving Images), he entered the film industry.

Ryota Nozaki [Jazztronik
Jazztronik is a music project without specific members led by Ryota Nozaki.
In addition to his own activities as an artist, Ryota also works as a pianist and arranger, producing soundtracks for movies and TV dramas, and is highly regarded in many fields for his unique musicality that is not limited to classical, jazz, and club music.

Shia Zaku
(BASED GUNPLA: RG 1/144 MS-06S Char Zaku II)
A Gunpla used by the powerful MonStar team. It is the Zaku (fuselage) dedicated to rival Shia, who represents "Mobile Suit Gundam". It is the favorite machine of rival Hakusei, which reproduces the setting of three times the speed of the mass-production type Zaku.

＜What is "Gundam Build Real"?
Many years have passed since "Gunpla," the plastic models of "Mobile Suit Gundam," a milestone in robot animation, became a huge movement in the 1980s, and in the midst of the e-sports boom, "Gunpla Battle" has become a driving force behind its popularity. In this game, players scan their own Gunpla and fight against a Gundam projected at full scale by a special drone. When scanned, "attack power," "defense power," "special moves," and "speed" are displayed in augmented reality (AR), reflecting their capabilities. Therefore, not only piloting skills but also Gunpla production skills (assembly, painting, weapon modification, etc.) determine the outcome of the game.

The main character, Hiro, formed the team "Bright" with his friends in elementary school. They all pooled their allowance money together to upgrade a single Gunpla (Nanahachi) they had purchased, aiming to win the regional tournament. However, the day before the competition, the Gunpla that was supposed to be in their bag is lost. Hiro gets upset and accuses one of the team members of the crime, and a fight breaks out. Team "Bright" was disbanded without competing in the tournament... Four years later, they are now freshmen in high school. Four years later, when they are in their first year of high school, they are reunited by a message from one of the team members. Hiro, the pilot; Takumi, the build (in charge of the aircraft); Kentaro, the programmer; Nakamaru, the commander; and Sota, the armorer (in charge of weapons). Now high school students, they once again set their sights on the national competition. The adolescent "Bright" members are reunited, but disagreements lead to various crises.
Farewells with friends, feuds with rival teams. This is an ensemble coming-of-age drama about high school students who gradually grow up with dreams and friendship in their hearts through Gunpla battles.
