It has been announced that the immortal masterpiece "BANANA FISH" will be adapted for the stage. It will be performed on a grand scale as a two-part story.

BANANA FISH" is one of the best works by Akio Yoshida, a manga artist known for his numerous masterpieces such as "Umimachi diary" and "YASHA" (Shogakukan), and its first anime adaptation in 2018 attracted much attention.

Yuma Uchida and Kenji Nojima appear on stage to report on the "BANANA FISH" event for the first and second episodes.

It has been more than 30 years since the serialization of "BANANA FISH" began in 1985, and it continues to be loved by many fans.
The first part will be performed in June 2021.

The play is set in downtown New York City in the 1980s.
Ash Lynx, the main character of the show, who has an exceptional appearance, outstanding athleticism, and exceptional intelligence, and reigns as the boss of the street kids with overwhelming charisma, is played by Ash Lynx, who has also starred as Banri Settsu in the MANKAI STAGE "A3! Battle-" Rule the Stage as Musabagi Iruma, and is highly acclaimed for his sensitive and glamorous performance.

Eiji Okumura plays the role of Eiji Okumura, a Japanese university student who meets Ash in downtown Tokyo as an assistant photographer and later comes to trust each other as the one and only irreplaceable person, even to the point of being called Ash's "weak spot". The director is Fumiya Matsuzaki, who boasts great popularity for his productions such as the MANKAI STAGE "A3!" series, the stage production of "The Box of the Môryô," and the stage production of "Whale Children Sing on the Sand," which depict in detail the emotions swirling inside human beings.
The script is written by Masafumi Hata, who has written scripts for a wide range of genres from light comedy to horrific tragedy, and has gained overwhelming support for his stage adaptations of famous original works such as the stage play "Tekkonkinkreet" and the stage play "The Deceptive Spirits of the Môryô no Hako".


BANANA FISH" is a hard-hitting depiction of the various desires that are intricately intertwined around the mysterious keyword "banana fish," and the human drama that is created within. Expectations are high for this work, which will be produced by a team of rare charisma.
