The main cast talks about the charms packed into a short length of time! The main cast talks about the charms of the movie in a short space of time! Pretty Cure Petit Tobikome! Collaboration♡Dance Party! Interview to commemorate the opening of the movie
In February 2021, "Tropical~ju," the 18th in the Pretty Cure series, began! Precure" (hereafter referred to as "Tropic~ju!"). The movie debut of the series, "Tropical~ju! Pretty Cure Petit Tobikome! Collaboration♡ Dance Party! (hereafter referred to as "Tropic~ju! Pretty Cure") will make its film debut in "Tropical~ju! GoGo! The film will be screened in theaters nationwide from March 20, 2021 (Saturday), in conjunction with the "Healty, Healty, Healty!
The members of "Troopuri" received an invitation to a dance party from "Healty Pretty Cure" (hereafter referred to as "Heapuri"). However, the party starts in three minutes! The girls rush to the venue, but will they make it to the venue safely?
Since not all of the Pretty Cure characters have yet appeared in the TV anime, this film is an early taste of the charms of all the "Troopri" characters. To commemorate its release, we present interviews with the main cast members, Ai Fileze (Cure Summer/Manatsu Natsumi), Yumiri Hanamori (Cure Coral/Sango Ryomura), Yui Ishikawa (Cure Papaya/Minori Ichinose), Masami Seto (Cure Flamingo/Asuka Takizawa), Rina Hidaka (Lola) ) will be interviewed.
What do you find attractive about the Tropicana characters?
--First of all, please tell us how you felt when you were chosen for the role.
FILES: When I passed the audition, I was so happy that I couldn't speak. (Laughs) I think the scene was secretly filmed, so I think the footage is still there. (Laughs) After that, I became more aware, and my eyes were sparkling and shining.
Ai Fayrouz.
Hanamori I had played a different role (as Mr. Element) in the previous "Heapli," so I never thought I would be able to become a Precure. I wasn't sure if I could play such a cute girl because many of the characters I was playing in other works during the audition period were "girls who thought too much of themselves. ...... When I was told that I had been chosen, I was so excited that I could play such a cute girl. When I was told that I had been chosen, I was more surprised that I could even be a Pretty Cure.
But when I met Sango-chan again, I realized that she has her own "tenderness and conflicted side. I felt once again that she came to us because she had to. I am very happy that they chose me.
Yumiri Hanamori
Ishikawa: I had auditioned for "Pretty Cure" many times before, and I always wanted to be a Pretty Cure someday. I had played an enemy (Hydro) in "Star Twinkle Pretty Cure: The Movie with My Heart in My Song" before, so I went to the movie theater and observed little children.
I went to the movie theater and observed the little kids, and some of them stood up while watching the movie. I played the antagonist, so I was the one they thought, "Let's get him! but someday I would like to be the one who makes people say, "Go for it! I wanted to be the one who gets to say, "Hang in there! So I was deeply moved that I could finally become a Precure. I am very happy to think that I will be able to get support from the audience this time.
Yui Ishikawa
Seto: I have auditioned for the "Pretty Cure" series many times, but I always lacked confidence, and I was glad that I was able to audition this year even though I probably wouldn't make it again. But this time, there are mermaids and the setting is the sea. I personally enjoy diving, so I had the thought in my mind that if I could get involved, it would be great to see the world in which the sea takes place through my work. ...... So when I heard from my manager that I had been accepted, I was really happy, and when I realized it, I had my hands in the air (laughs). (laughs). It was like I was being secretly filmed, too. It was embarrassing, but that's how happy I was.
Asami Seto
Hidaka I love "Pretty Cure," and I used to watch "Futari wa Pretty Cure" when I was little, and I had a chance to be in a live-action commercial for that toy. But after I became a voice actor, my schedule did not allow me to audition. That's why I was so happy to be able to audition this time.
When I was informed that I had been selected, I couldn't believe it at first, but then my joy gradually grew. I was so happy that I spent almost an hour talking to my manager about how much I love "Pretty Cure," and I even went to other people in the office to tell them about it (laughs). (Laughs.) Moreover, the fact that this year's Pretty Cure was based on one of my favorite cosmetic motifs was also a connection, and it made me very excited.
Rina Hidaka
--What do you find attractive about the character you play? Please also tell us what you were conscious of in your performance.
Fileez: The most attractive point of Manatsu is that she is a cheerful person who is like the sun. Her positivity and physical strength to go after what she loves are also attractive. People often tell me that Manatsu and I have very similar personalities. I myself have experienced the sweet and sour sides of working life, but I played the role while remembering how it feels to be a fresh girl who will soon be in her first year of junior high school.
I think what attracts me to Sango is her kindness. However, she is very tolerant of others, and because she is too kind, before she knows it, she is unable to say what she likes to others. I thought it was really cool to see her take a step forward as a performer.
I think this is a mental problem that is easy to face in life. Because she is a character that everyone can relate to, she is not a victim, but a natural problem, and she thinks about how to overcome it in her own way and steps forward. ...... I play her with that strength in mind.
Ishikawa: Minori is the one who changes the most between her normal form and her transformed form in this Pretty Cure. Her appearance changes completely, and her quiet character who loves books bursts out when she transforms. She is a girl who likes to fantasize, so I think she was able to clearly portray the image she longed for, and I think the image she longed for was Cure Papaya.
(At the time of this interview), the recording of the main story has not yet begun, but I am wondering how much I should bring out in her, since she is a much calmer girl. But I am also shy, and I have a feeling of wanting to be friendly and chatty with everyone, and I am realizing my longing to be someone in a play. I would like to play Minori by referring to those feelings.
Asuka Seto: At first, I got the impression that you are a girl with a strong sense of justice. She has a sense of justice, and when she sees someone in trouble, she quickly comes to their aid.
She is a little older than the others, so she has an adult-like quality, but she is also a third-year junior high school student. When playing her, I hope I can express her fresh reactions to things she comes into contact with for the first time, while also making sure to express the slightly older side of her in the right way.
Hidaka Lola is a supportive character for Pretty Cure, but at the same time, she is in a position where she is trying to make everyone's dreams of becoming the next queen of the mermaid kingdom come true. She is very expressive, so I feel that the audience will think of her as an honest and cute girl with a lot to say, rather than as a jerk.
In terms of her personality, she is the opposite of Coral and Papaya, who don't show their feelings, or rather, she is confident and proud of herself, which is why she says many convincing lines. I also get a kick out of it. So I hope you will pay attention to the lines that she says from a different perspective from the other characters.
Watch out for the vivid colors of the coral reefs and the ocean, and the movement of the hair!
--Please tell us about the highlights of this short film.
FILES: The film is a little short, but the charm of "Tropuli" is packed into it. I think you can get a sense of what kind of atmosphere and work "Tropuli" is by watching it, and I am very happy to be able to convey the fun atmosphere to everyone.
Hanamori: I had given up on the idea of participating in a spring movie due to the current situation, but I was very happy to hear that I could participate in a short film. I had been an actor in "Heapli" and watched "5GOGO!" as a child, so I was very happy to be able to work with two Precures that have a lot of great images. I hope you enjoy the show, as it is an opportunity to get to know the members of "Troopri".
Ishikawa: The movie starts when Cure Papaya has not yet appeared in the TV anime, so this is the first time we can see all the members fighting together. I think you will see how powerful, sparkling, colorful, and fun Troopri is.
Seto: Like Papaia, Cure Flamingo has not yet appeared in the TV anime, but because of the speedy development, the movie is filled with the goodness of all five of them. The speedy development of the story is what makes this movie so exciting to watch.
Hidaka As you said, the time is short, but it is packed with the essence of "Troopri," and as I thought when I recorded the first episode of the TV anime, the tempo of "Troopri" is faster than the previous "Pretty Cure" films, and there are many gag elements. I think the momentum and energetic atmosphere of the movie will make everyone feel cheerful.
--What do you think about the visual aspect of the film?
Fayrouz: Yes, I think so. I think that those who have not yet been exposed to the "Tropic of Cancer" world do not really understand what "Tropic of Cancer" is all about. But in this film, the vividness of the coral reefs and ocean colors in the depiction of the ocean are really beautiful. This is what I mean by "tropikaru! I want to say this out loud. It was like looking at a beautiful realist painting.
Hanamori In a short time, the film runs from the sky to the sea, and then the place itself moves to the dance party venue. Each scene has its own beauty, and the expressions change from one scene to another, with battles and gags. I felt that the tempo of the scenes is also packed with the worldview of "Tropuli".
Ishikawa: Even when I was acting, I couldn't help but notice that I was moving to the next scene. I think you will enjoy the momentum of the film, as if you are running together with the actor when you notice him or her, or rather, you are being pulled along with the actor.
Seto: I think there are a lot of people who don't know what's under the sea. So I was very happy to see that the coral reefs and lights express how wonderful the inside of the ocean is. The sparkling depiction of the waves, the sun, and all the beautiful things related to the sea makes my heart dance.
--It is very typical of Mr. Seto, whose hobby is diving. By the way, have you ever dived in tropical seas?
Seto: Yes, I have. But it was not in a coral reef sea, but in a sandy beach. I would like to dive in such a colorful coral reef someday.
Hidaka Of course the ocean scenes are great, but the way the characters' hair moves in the battle scenes and when they fall from the sky is also really great. The Precure series is full of unique hairstyles. The movement of the hair is a very detailed way of portraying the characters so that the viewer can feel the realism and the speed of the wind. I can't wait to see it on the big screen at the movie theater.
Makeup is a source of confidence. It is also important in terms of one's mood.
--One of the motifs of this film is "cosmetics. This time Pretty Cure transforms by wearing makeup. How do your feelings change when you wear makeup?
Fayrouz: I feel more confident. Depending on the condition of the makeup, there are days when I feel "I feel really good today! I can feel confident and love myself just by the fact that I am wearing makeup. On the other hand, if I am not wearing makeup, I feel like, "Please, no one look at me today. ...... That's how much it motivates me.
Hanamori: Even during postrecording, when I put on makeup, I can devote myself to the performance. I don't have to think about whether my hair might be too shaggy or my skin too dry in front of the microphone. I can suddenly come back to myself and say, "What? I'm so enthusiastic right now, but don't I look bad? I don't have to think about such strange things. In that sense, I think it is good to have confidence.
Ishikawa: I am not the type of person who usually puts on a lot of makeup, but I do put on makeup when I am going to appear in a movie or be interviewed, or when I am really enthusiastic about doing my best. When I put on mascara, which I usually don't do, and my eyes pop, I feel like I have been made into a different person, or my confidence has been boosted. I feel like I've been made a different person and given a boost of confidence! I feel like I've been made into a different person and given a boost of confidence.
Seto: I like cosmetics and makeup, but I am not very good at doing it myself, so I feel happy when I have a professional do my makeup for work. Recently, I have started to think about taking a picture of my face as a souvenir when I go to the trouble of having it done by a professional (laughs). It might be helpful because I'm not very good at it, and I keep it as a souvenir of having it done beautifully.
Hidaka I get excited when I try new cosmetics, and I love to collect information on new releases and limited time coffrets to find my favorite cosmetics. I think it gives me confidence, or raises my tension and motivation. In that sense, I think that makeup is more important to me from a feeling standpoint rather than being satisfied with the finished product. I feel like I'm going to have a good day because my makeup went well, and that helps me get through the day.
--Lastly, please tell us about your thoughts on the baton you have passed on from the previous work "Heapli".
Filey's Precure is a traditional work that many people have put love and passion into, so I was more nervous than ever. To relieve my nervousness, Aoi Yuuki, who plays the main character of "Heapli," kindly approached me. I thought to myself, "So this is what "Healty Pretty Cure" is all about! I thought (laughs). (Laughs) I thought that she was "treating" my heart as well. Yuuki and I happen to work at the same office, and we went out to eat meat together.
So, I was determined to finish the baton that I had received from my respected senior, so I thought more about being energetic than being nervous. I think there are many people who are spending more time at home these days and are feeling gloomy, but I want to make this work so full of energy that it will make their hearts shimmer.
Hanamori: The theme of "Heapli" was "treating the earth," which coincidentally fits the theme of the current times, and I think it was a work that responded to everyone's need for healing. And in "Tropic of Cancer," the theme is "Tropic of Cancer. I am going through with the recording of the song, feeling that the theme of the song is also suitable for the current times, as it fills people's hearts with sparkles while they do what they have to do.
Ishikawa: That's right. Last year, something completely different from the past happened. We couldn't go to various areas to meet little children directly and let them enjoy "Pretty Cure" as we have done in the past, so there were a lot of difficulties.
When I happened to meet Aoi Yuuki, she told me that "there were a lot of things that were hard to get used to, but I'm sure everything will be fine now. I really felt that everyone in "Heapli" had overcome the difficulties and passed the baton to us. I hope that we can create our own series with peace of mind and bring smiles and courage to those of you who are feeling cramped because you spend a lot of time at home.
Seto: Last year, when "Heapli" was aired, the world was in a difficult situation and things were not going as usual. Events to meet you all did not go as smoothly as before. However, I believe that animation can deliver dreams, hopes, excitement, and many other emotions through the screen, so I will do my best as the voice of the character.
Hidaka: "Heapli" brought healing and energy to everyone, and this "Troopri" is another work that has the power to cheer everyone up in a different way. The Pretty Cure series has been created by various predecessors over the generations, and I received many congratulatory messages from them when I was chosen to appear in the series. I would like to inherit their love and do my best to bring smiles to everyone's faces.
