What did Aoi Yuuki and Yuko Sanpei get from Pretty Cure? What did Aoi Yuuki and Yufuko Sanpei get from Pretty Cure the Movie? GoGo! An interview to commemorate the opening of the movie!
Healttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt! The movie "Healttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt! GoGo! will be on the road at theaters nationwide from March 20, 2021 (Saturday).
This film is set in Tokyo, where the "Dream Pendant" experience, which allows viewers to project the dreams they have in their minds, is very popular. The film is the first time that all the members of "Heapli" have come together. The fourth and fifth series, "Yes! Pretty Cure 5" and "Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GoGo!
To commemorate its release, we bring you interviews with Aoi Yuki (playing Cure Grace/Nodoka Hanadera in "Hyupuri") and Yufuko Sanpei (playing Cure Dream/Zomi Yumehara in "5GoGo!") from the dream team-up of these two works.
We asked the cast, who were viewers at the time, to confirm their voices
--First of all, please tell us what you think of the completed video.
Yuuki: I was very excited to see the world that seems to be a collection of things that girls like. The pictures are fun and exciting to look at, and if you see it on a big screen in a movie theater, I think you will say, "Wow, it's so much fun! I think it would be a lot of fun.
However, when I was making my head into a flower garden with the glitter of the pictures, something quite deep hit me. The story is a combination of various human characters, and is designed to be enjoyed from multiple perspectives. If you watch the movie until the end, you will see images that were made possible only because the movie was released in March, and I was moved by them as well.
Sanbei: While there is the festive fun that only a Pretty Cure movie can have, I was so moved by the parent-child scene that I was moved by the mother's emotions and felt a warm glow. I think it is a very wonderful movie.
--How did you feel when it was decided that you would co-star in both films?
Yuuki: I was very excited at the thought of transforming together and unleashing our techniques together. But I also felt an overwhelming sense of security like, "I can leave it to you! I felt an overwhelming sense of security, and I was looking forward to it. During the actual recording, Dream-chan's (Cure Dream) powerful and energetic voice pulled me along, and I was energized to a level that Grace (Cure Grace) would not normally venture into. I feel that the charisma that Dream-chan and the other girls emitted had a great influence on the "Heapli" team.
In particular, Fontaine (Natsu Yoda) and Sparkle (Hiyori Kono) had always loved "5GoGo! (Laughs). Seeing them like that made me happy, too.
Sanbei: I used to watch "Heapli" every week with my child, so I felt a little superior to him, even though I didn't tell him. I didn't tell my child, but I felt a little superior. Like, "Uh-huh" (laughs).
(laughs) -- Did your children know that you are a Pretty Cure?
Sanbei They don't know that I am Precure.
Yuki That's super cool!
Sanbei: I want them to see it in a pure way, and I also wondered if I should say, "Mommy, you are (Cure) Dream. (laughs). Thanks to you, they genuinely enjoyed it, and we started each week by singing the opening song together.
When I first saw "Heapli" on TV, I thought it was new to say, "Take care of yourself! I thought. Every Pretty Cure has transformations and special moves, but saying "o o o o o o o o kitai" at the end is something unique to "Heapli". I was nervous and excited to think that I would be saying "O-okaji ni" in the movie, which I used to see every week on TV.
Yuuki: And you say it after shooting a beam through the center of the enemy (laughs)! (laughs). (laughs). It was a purification.
Sanbei: Dream is usually overcome with power and tension, so I wondered if Dream would be able to say such a soft line (laughs). I wondered if Dream could say such soft lines (laughs). (laughs) But I thought we would be okay together.
Yuuki: It was divine!
Sanbei I managed to say it by watching and studying "Heapli" every week.
Aoi Yuuki.
--Any impressive episodes from the actual postrecording?
Sanpei: I wondered if I could do Dream's voice. That was the first hurdle for me. I heard that Seiran (Kobayashi), who plays Kaguya, is from the generation that used to watch "5GoGo! I asked Seiran, who was a viewer at that time, "Hey, does it sound like a dream? (Laughs.) After getting Seiran's assurance, I was confident that I could do it.
Yuuki: Seiran-chan's eyes were sparkling and she said, "It's a dream! I thought the aura of Dream's senpai was amazing. I myself had not seen the movie in real time at the time, but I was familiar with it, so I was sure it was the real thing! I had a meek feeling that it was the real thing! But the twinkle in Seiran's eyes was like seeing something I really believed in as a child.
Sanbei No, it will be so in a few years~. "I watched 'Heapli'!" I was watching 'Heapli'!
Yuuki...... I can't say how I feel. I didn't realize it would sit so badly (laughs).
Sanbei I, too, would say, "I'm sorry it's me. Are you okay? Is my dream broken?" I was nervous, but I got through it with the feeling that my voice was real.
Yuko Sanpei
What is the point of your new transformation form?
--One of the highlights of this work is the appearance of several new transformation forms. What do you think about them?
Yuki: It was really cute! I saw the partner form for the first time on a poster at the site, and I thought, "Oh, how cute! He's wearing striped socks!" I was like, "Oh, he's wearing striped socks! I thought, "Why do they do such a cute thing with Grace's bunny ears? It was so cute that I lost my vocabulary (laughs). The Japanese taste is also very nice. Up until now, I had transformed into a Western dress-like figure, but this time, the transformation bank is also very Japanese and cool.
Sanbei: I was wondering if there was a "coco form" (laughs).
Yuuki That's good! I would love to see him in his partner form, if he became handsome! (Laughs)
Sanbei So it's not that he gets ears, but that way. I hadn't thought of that.
--I think it's rare to have a Japanese taste in a character, but do you have any memories of Japanese culture in Pretty Cure?
Yuuki: I like "Kira Kira Pretty Cure Alamode," and the spring movie "Pretty Cure Dream Stars the Movie" in which they also appeared! had a Japanese theme. I was so excited by the fox-masked enemies and the girls in kimono. I have always admired that, so I feel like my dream was fulfilled as well. I thought the design also took into account the desire to make people feel the goodness of Japan, and it's really cute.
Sanbei: The image of a transformed Pretty Cure is one of frills and ribbons, but this movie could lead to the birth of a Japanese-inspired Pretty Cure, don't you think?
Yuuki That would be nice! I really like Japanese motifs.
Sanbei: Even in our generation, there have been some Japanese motifs, such as going to a world of old stories or Japanese ghosts. But it is fresh to incorporate Japanese elements into the costumes. It's fresh, but it fits in, and I feel like I've seen the craftsmanship that comes when Japanese tastes are cutely depicted in the world of Pretty Cure.
--I am also looking forward to seeing the transformations of Cure Grace and Cure Dream.
Sanbei: The costumes in which the two transform together are both based on white, so I feel like a double bride.
Yuuki: I know, I thought they were getting married (laughs). And isn't it amazing that they have each other's motifs on their outfits? Grace's costume is based on a floral motif, but she has a butterfly (Dream's motif) on her chest, etc. It's fun to look for the same and different parts of their costumes, and when they stand side by side, they have a really cute balance.
Sanbei: You can't tell this just by watching the movie once (laughs).
Yuuki: I hope you will watch the movie repeatedly. The clothes are also transformable, and they were drawn by the comic book artist, Kamikita Futago-sensei, so they are really cute. Nodoka's high neckline is the best!
Sanbei: "Yume-are" is the best. I don't have to buy clothes because the clothes I want to wear are reproduced (laughs).
Yuuki: (If "Dream Earl" became popular,) it would ruin the economy, though (laughs).
(Laughs.) It's full of adult dreams, and I was touched by it from a parent's point of view.
--Please tell us about the story other than the costumes, and what are the highlights of the movie.
Yuuki: I would love for people to see the hope that is built on sacrificing something, and how it is resolved. This time, we start with a happy world where everyone shares their dreams through revolutionary technology (Yumearu), but in the end, it all comes down to "It's your heart that dreams are made of". Also, Earth (Cure Earth), who is like our child, will make her debut on the silver screen for the first time, so please take a look at her divine appearance.
Sanbei: While there is a sense of festivity and cuteness, I am relieved when I see the action scenes (laughs). It's strange to be healed ...... by the sight of a dignified girl fighting, but I hope you will experience the power that only Pretty Cure can bring to the big screen. If you're not careful, you'll probably end up crying.
--What do you think from an adult's point of view?
Yuuki: I think the appearance of "5GoGo! I was rooting for them when I was a child. I am sure that when my guesses are newly drawn after 10 years, with transformation banks and actions, I will say, "Ahhh, more cuts of my guesses! (I would go see the movie 10 times. I would watch it 10 times. No, 10 times may not be enough (laughs).
I think one of the charms of anime characters is that they appear as they were in the past, like preserved flowers. There is definitely a quality of being able to go back to the time when you were watching them. As I mentioned earlier, the reactions of Fontaine and Sparkle really brought me back to that time, and Earth (Suzuko Mimori) and I were smiling together. I am sure that everyone will be the same way at the theater. Also, the costumes made me nervous even as an adult.
Sanbei: There were so many transformations, and it was fun to see them in a way that they had never been seen on TV. It's also nice to see different patterns of personal outfits, and I think it's a dream come true for adults.
--I think it is a dream come true for adults.
Yuuki: It's the same excitement as when a so-called robot transforms, isn't it?
--Yes, it is. The images are so beautiful, so it's even more so.
Yuuki: "Oh my God! It's so cool! I thought, "Wow! And this time, he transforms even more. If he were a last boss, he would be a very troublesome enemy. How many times is he going to transform? (laughs).
--You're right (laughs). Sanpei, how did you feel about it from the perspective of an adult or a parent?
Sanpei: Pretty Cure is made with a great deal of emphasis on the fact that it is aimed at children, so I have confidence that I can show it to them without worry and that it is a work that I want them to see. Besides, the theme of this movie is parents and children, and especially the doctor (Serena Gashuin, Kaguya's mother) is not very good at expressing her love, but the feelings she has are the same. I think it is a wonderful story that will move even parents, so I hope you will watch it, even if you have to replace your father in your life.
--Lastly, please tell us what you have learned or gained through Precure, even if it is in the abstract.
Yuuki: When I first started, I saw a huge gap between myself and so-called "idealistic girl characters" like Nodoka. I thought they were very distant from each other, and I didn't understand why I was chosen. But when I saw the senior members (of Pretty Cure) surrounded by younger members and they said, "I used to watch them on TV" or "I used to copy their hair style because I admired it," I thought to myself, "I'm going to be working with the people who admired me. I thought, "I have to be like this! I felt that I had to do my best for a year.
I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to meet someone who made me want to work hard for a year. I haven't fully grasped everything yet, but I think I learned that it is a wonderful thing to have someone who admires you, and to want to be in a way that they admire.
And as I learned that, I also wondered how Grace could be everyone's admirer. I also thought a lot about how Grace could be everyone's admirer. I thought I needed to think about what kind of person she wanted to be, rather than just looking at her from the other side of the river. It was a year in which I learned a lot about these things.
Sanbei: I realized once again that the production site takes great care in creating its products. It is a little different from a work with an original story, but I felt that they place great importance on what to deliver to the children watching, what kind of language to use, and how to make sure that food tastes good, and other things that are taken for granted.
This is the first movie in which Precure plays the main role. You can't see the faces of the people watching on TV, but when you see the children frantically waving the lights in the movie theater, you can feel how serious they are. Even if you have been watching animation itself since you were much younger, this movie might be the first work you see for yourself. It may be the first time it becomes a work that will remain in my memory. That is why it made me feel that I had to be more sincerely involved. And the fact that people still love it even after all these years gives me confidence that what was created was a good one after all.
