On Saturday, March 20, 2021, an advance screening of the anime "Odd Taxi," which will begin airing in April, was held at the Yoshimoto Yurakucho Theater with a cast talk.

Odd Taxi"is an original anime that will be broadcast onTV Tokyo andAT-XfromApril2021. The script is written by Watsuya Konomoto, who has created the comic "Setutsumi" (which has also been made into a live-action movie and drama) and "Black School Rules," a movie, drama, and Hulu release, and is working on his first original TV animation work.

On March 20, 2021 (Sat), an advance screening of the anime "Odd Taxi," which will start airing in April, was held at the Yoshimoto Yurakucho Theater with a cast talk. Here is a report on the event.

At the event, episodes 1 through 4 were screened in advance, and a special digest version of episodes 1 through 4 was distributed online.
During the intermission and ventilation, two members of Garry Records (Yoshisuke Takai and Phoenix), who play the roles of Fukumoto and Kondo of the young comedian duo "Kuso Illumination" in the main anime "Odd Taxi," took the stage. They made an announcement about precautions to be taken before the start of the talk part. The audience also applauded when Takai introduced himself by performing a series of three impersonations of Tatsuya Fujiwara.

In the talk session after the screening, Natsuki Hanae (Odogawa), Riho Iida (Shirakawa), Yusuke (Diane) (Shibagaki), Atsuhiro Tsuda (Diane) (Baba) (Homo sapiens), Kosuke Takai (Garry Record) (Fukumoto), Phoenix (Kondo) (Botanical Illumination) Phoenix (Garry Records) took the stage. With Phoenix of Garry Records in charge of facilitating the event, the cast members appeared on stage to loud applause. The audience was excited as the six members talked about "Odd Taxi" prescreening, scripts, and characters according to the theme of the talk.

Yusuke asked the audience about the theme of "Presco," to which Yusuke replied, "Presco is that thing, right? He then asked the audience, "Did you feel any different? Did you feel any discomfort? Tsuda asked Hanae, "Did you feel comfortable? The dialogue on the radio was great! Hanae commented, "I'm so happy! Tsuda shouted, "I'm so happy! Iida commented, "I had a hard time with the direction to act naturally. Hanae also said that it was "a challenge" to play a character over 40 years old.

In the "I rode in a cab like this" talk, Hanae shared an episode in which she rode in a "lucky cab. Iida also shared a lucky episode in which he took the same cab three times in one day.
The theme of the talk was "How to make 'Odd Taxi' a buzzword." Takai suggested that they advertise "Odd Taxi" by imitating Tatsuya Fujiwara. The audience laughed when Yusuke asked the cast to tweet "#TsudaSubettoTayo" as he asked the audience and viewers to spread the word on SNS.

The first volume will be released on May 19, and there will be four volumes in total. Information on the original perks for each corporation will also be announced at a later date.

It was also announced that the "Odd Taxi Yose" event will be held on April 29 (Thursday, national holiday). The event will be held at Ikebukuro harevutai and will feature Ryohei Kimura as Tsuyoshi, Soma Saito as Tanaka, and Garry Record as Kuzoku Illumination, who was also performing that day.
At the end of the event, Mugi Kinoshita, director of "Odd Taxi," took the stage. As a surprise gift, he presented the cast with illustrations drawn by the director himself, to the delight of the cast. Director Kinoshita commented, "There is a lot of foreshadowing and a surprising twist at the end, so please enjoy the movie until the end.

The cast gave one last speech each, with Tsuda saying, "Odd Taxi is goi goi goi sui," one of his own gags! Iida also commented, "This anime really is a great story. Iida also commented with a smile, "This anime really is goi-go-issue!　I really wanted to say this," he commented with a smile. Hanae, who played the main character in the last episode, said, "Episode 4 ended in a very good place, and the mystery will be solved more and more from now on. And the images are really beautiful, so I hope you enjoy being immersed in the amazing worldview that Odd Taxi has," she said, concluding the talk part.

Odd Taxi" is an original anime written by Watsuya Konomoto (Setouchi) and featuring music by PUNPEE, VaVa, and OMSB. 41-year-old cab driver Kotogawa's interactions with peculiar customers lead to the disappearance of a girl. In addition to the talented voice actors, many comedians with acting talent will participate, including Miki Takashi (Trendy Angel) and Tomoko Murakami (Morisanchu). <Synopsis
How far are you going, sir?
It should be a familiar town, but there is something a little different about this town.

Kotorogawa, a cab driver, leads an ordinary life. He has no relatives, doesn't get involved with other people, and is a bit eccentric and uncommunicative. His hobbies are rakugo, which he listens to before going to bed, and the radio, which he listens to while working. The only friends he has are his family doctor, Tsuyoshi, and a classmate from high school, Kakihana.
All he carries are customers who are somewhat peculiar. Kabasawa, a university student who wants to get the word out, Shirakawa, a nurse who is hiding something, homo sapiens, a duo of comedians who can't seem to sell, Dob, a street thug, Mystery Kiss, a successful idol... The conversations of these people, who should be nothing, eventually lead to a girl who has gone missing.
