The concept is "even busy working people can make it this far on their weekends off. There are only two rules: bare bones assembly and a production period of one to two days! If you read this series, you will surely find the plastic model you want to build.

So, "Weekend Plastic Model Making by Voice Actor Taiyuki! Weekend Plastic Model! The 31st issue has started!

Vol. 31 MODEROID Super Pipimi BARI Mode

This time, we would like to introduce the "Supreme Balanced Plastic Model Kit Super Pipimi BARI Mode," which is a kit from Good Smile Company's "MODEROID" series!

This robot appeared in the OP video of the anime "POPTEPIC," and it took viewers by surprise; you can get a sense of the world just from the OP video, but there is nothing in particular that makes up the main story (laughs).

(Laughs) I also remember that the timing of the announcement of the kit version was very speedy.

The package illustration is a gorgeous illustration by Masami Ohari and Tsukasa Kotobuki! This alone is worth the purchase!

The number of runners is not complicated, as you can see. In addition to stickers, water transfer decals are included. It looks easy to assemble, so relax your shoulders!

It took about 2.5 hours to complete, including sticker application! I think you can already tell that it has a good style at this point. I was especially impressed with the color-coded blue line on the shin by dividing the parts.

If you assemble it according to the instructions, you will end up with the reinforced version, but of course you can also make it in the normal state. I'll talk about that later.

First of all, let's look at the range of motion. Depending on the part, there is a slight difference in the range of motion depending on whether it is armed or not.

The head has double ball-joint connections and there is a good amount of clearance around the collar, so you can move it around.

The base of the shoulders are ball-jointed and can swing back and forth slightly, allowing the shoulders to rotate and swing back and forth. The horizontal movement is a little more limited than the normal state due to the interference of the missile pods, but it is still sufficient.

The upper and lower arms each have a roll axis, allowing the arms to move freely when posing.

In addition, the elbow joints are movable up to this point. The wrists are connected with ball joints, so they are movable.

When bending at the chest, the chest parts that might interfere with each other are also slightly raised to ensure clearance.

Rotation at the waist connection is possible up to this point when equipped with variant cannons.

The leg parts are the ones where the special focus on action can be felt the most. The hip joint connection is a hybrid of a ball joint and a rotating axis. The side skirts can also be raised up for a powerful leg spread.

The swing forward and backward is also as you can see. The knees are double-jointed and can bend this far.

The ankles have good ground contact, which is important when posing. Moreover, the toes are movable up and down. The figure is now an action figure that can be assembled. The brown ankle parts are reproduced in the color scheme with stickers.

The missile pod swings left and right with an axial connection.

The variant cannon connected to the backpack has a ball joint connection, allowing it to swing up and down, left and right.

The backpack, which is designed with a mechanical back hair, can only be moved slightly due to the cable of the variant cannon. However, in normal mode, the backpack can be moved much more freely.

Variant cannon, fire!" I have not seen this weapon in use yet, but I have seen it in use on ...... (laughs).

Missile pods!

The modeling of this missile pod is also excellent, with the warhead color-coded in separate parts and detailing on the back.

With this fist!

In addition to the clasped hands, wrists with expressions are provided on both sides. You can use them in combination to expand the range of posing options.

The figure can be posed in a variety of poses. Lord of Calamity!

How it is taken out is still a mystery, but here is an image.

Haaaaah!"

There are left and right wrists to hold the sword, and the arms and shoulders are excellent for movement, so it is not too difficult to hold the sword with both hands. Try to find a cool pose.

Chaegestwo!

The Lord of Calamity is swinging down powerfully at once.

The armament can be removed. The missile pod can be detached from the shoulder armor.

The variant cannon is connected to the backpack, so the entire base can be removed.

Here is the normal Super Pipi BARI mode with the additional armament removed. It looks very neat, and some people may prefer it this way.

A close-up of the upper half of the body. The face and forehead are partially painted parts. The ribbon-like head ornament is sharp and cool. The head is also very massive despite being a mecha! The coloring is also heroic.

Lower body. The waist has moderate armor parts, reminiscent of a skirt.
As mentioned above, the blue line leading from the knee to the shin is color-coded by dividing the parts. It felt good to assemble this part.

The ankles are the image of loafers.

By removing the armament, the backpack has expanded its range of motion to the point where it can be rotated. The waist can also be rotated 360°, and the shoulder armor can be raised to this level.

This allows for even more action poses.

Thanks to the movable toes, the right leg can also be pulled out and grounded without any difficulty.

She can even stand on one leg!

She can even kneel on one knee!

She can also use various stands such as "THE Simple Stand" to recreate aerial combat scenes!

Ballistic kiiiiiiick!

The pose I used in the example.

And although it's been dragged out this far, a powerful, perspectivelike Lord of Calamity is also included!

One sword! Double cut!

Next to the sword with perspective is the masked face! This kit is selectable, but you can also enjoy replacing it by disassembling a part of it.

The face looks as if it is shouting something.

Super Pipi BARI mode, charging forward with spirit!

Wow! !!!!!"

Then I assembled the "Sushi Popko," which even has a note on the back of the package that says, "*Sushi Popko is included in this kit.

Basically, because glue is recommended, it is like a temporary assembly as it is. As one would expect, there is no color separation between the parts, so we would like you to take this opportunity to try painting with water-based paints.

Even though it is monochromatic, it has a sense of dynamism.

Comparison with Super Pipi BARI mode. The size is just right for display.

Now, we would like to add a little more work, but we want you to take your time and try painting Sushi Popko, so we have again done the smudging of the prominent parts on the body.

The details of the arms, thighs, intakes, and other brightly-colored parts can be enhanced by simply applying smudging.

The face in particular is an area that definitely needs to be smudged. The abdomen is also smeared to emphasize the three-dimensional effect.

The arms and other parts of the body are also smeared so that shadows are cast, which also enhances the sense of three-dimensionality.

The concave molding around the thighs and ankles is painted in black rather than smeared. The inside of the thighs have also been smeared, giving them a three-dimensional appearance that at first glance could be mistaken for a multiple structure.

The thrusters on the calves have also been painted.

The muzzle of the variant cannon also looks more realistic when painted in.

Posing a little more in Super Pipi BARI mode with smeared paint. She is equipped with additional flying weapons, but she was originally designed to be good at fighting.

Heel drop!

Can I use the pursed sword as is, or can I use it as a normal sword?

'Scratch this my face...'

So, I think it is definitely better to smear the mask-cracked face as well!

The included water-transfer decals are for Sushi Popko's eyes and eyebrows. So, after painting, you can paste them on to make Sushi Popko with beautiful eyes. And as you can see, there are three sets of decals, so you can try without fear of making a mistake once or twice.

Here is the decal without painting. The shape of the figure is very kind as a figure kit, as the position of the eyes is easy to see where to attach them.

We hope you will display the Super Pipimi BARI mode and Sushi Popko figure side by side in cool poses! I mean, will the day ever come when we can see a full-length version of this robot anime?
