Bold update of "Muteking the Dancing Hero"! Anime "MUTEKING THE Dancing HERO" will begin airing in the fall of 2021!

MUTEKING THE DANCING HERO, a TV anime based on Tatsunoko Productions' original work that has been announced for production and lead voice actor auditions in 2019, has finally begun in earnest. Information on the cast, staff, characters, and teaser visuals has been released.

The original "Muteking the Dancing Hero" is a heroic gag anime produced by Tatsunoko Productions that aired from September 1980 to September 1981, set in a town modeled after San Francisco in the 1980s. The Muteking's "outrageous" performance of singing a song when he first appears in the film, and the novel worldview represented by his distinctive costume of flamboyant primary colors and roller skates, drew enthusiastic support from children at the time.

This "MUTEKING THE DANCING HERO" inherits the spirit of the original and boldly updates the world of the film to create a new level of enthusiasm. Set in Neo-San Francisco, it is not a remake, but a reboot, a cool and pop work that aims to create a new anime culture in 2025.

The new MUTEKING will be directed by Mr. Hiroshi Sasagawa (executive director), Mr. Ryosuke Takahashi (general director), and other legends who have been active in the forefront of the Japanese animation industry since its inception, as well as by Mr. Yuzo Sato, who has garnered support from overseas with his 3DCG skills, and Mr. Yuzo Sato (character designer). The series is composed by up-and-coming creators such as Utomaru (THINKR), an illustrator widely active in the pop culture scene with his colorful expressions, and Yuji Kondo, a broadcaster active at the center of the TV industry with such programs as "Another Sky" and "Fashionable Ism", The animation production team of Tatsunoko Productions and Tezuka Productions has been formed for the first time to take on the challenge with their combined efforts.

The cast includes Kentaro Mashiro, who won the lead role of "Muteki" despite being a newcomer, Takuya Eguchi as "Muteki's" partner "DJ," Satoshi Hino as "Theo," the head of a huge IT company in Neo San Francisco, and Rie Takahashi as "Ida-san," an aspiring idol whom "Muteki" is in love with.
