Fishing Port Nekko-chan," an animated feature film planned and produced by Akashiya Sanma based on the novel by Naoki Prize-winning author Kanako Nishi, is a touching heartwarming comedy about a miracle connected by a secret between Nekko-chan and Kikuko, a mother and daughter with a reason who live on a boat at a fishing port.
The film is directed by Ayumi Watanabe, director of "Doraemon Nobita no Dinosaur 2006" (2006) and "Kaiju no Kodomo" (19), and the animation is produced by STUDIO4℃, which has many fans around the world for its overwhelming quality and world view. Shinobu Otake plays the role of Nekko and Cocomi plays her daughter, Kikuko, and Natsuki Hanae also makes an appearance.

Popular voice actor Hiro Shimono, who played Zenitsu Wagatsuma in the anime "Demon Slayer" and Connie in "Shinkage no Kyojin" and was named MVS at this year's Seiyu Awards, has been announced to participate in this production.

He will appear in the CX "New Year's Big Sale," which aired on January 2 this year! Sanma-no-Mama" aired on January 2 (CX), in which Hiro Shimono appeared with Hanae-san, with whom he co-stars in the "Demon Slayer" anime series. There, Hiro Shimono found out that Hanae-san was going to appear in "Fisherman's Mamma," and requested to be in the show. The show turned out to be an open audition.

When Mr. Akashiya Sanma asked him, "Can you do the voice of a lizard? Mr. Akashiya Sanma asked him if he could do the voice of a lizard, and Mr. Shimono immediately answered, "Yes! Mr. Shimono responded to Mr. Akashiya's request with ease and tempo, and Mr. Akashiya was so excited that he said, "That's so good! and the crowd went wild. The result was left pending as Mr. Sanma told him to "go through proper channels for the job request," but he was officially offered the job and decided to participate as a voice cast member of "Fisherman's Port Nekko-chan".

It was also revealed that Hiro Shimono will play the role of a gecko that utters lines that speak for the hearts of Nekko and Kikuko, in addition to the role of a lizard that he played in the audition on the program. Shimono had previously played a humanoid lizard in the role of Wanibe in the anime "Labyrinth Black Company," but this is the first time he has played a lizard in lizard form. He himself laughed and said, "I wonder if I have a connection with 'lizards' this year.

A making-of video showing a light-hearted exchange between Mr. Shimono and Mr. Akashiya Sanma, who was the first to finish the postrecording, is now available! A comment from Mr. Shimono has also arrived.

Making of the film

<Comment from Hiro Shimono
I never thought that "Sanma-no-Mama" would be the place for my audition (laugh).
I was very happy to get the role, and I am very honored to be able to appear in a film produced by Sanma-san, whom I have watched since I was a child.
When I dropped by the office for another matter, the manager said, "I have something to tell you..." With an air of confidentiality, he took me to a small room and said, "You have been selected to appear in "Fisherman's Breed! Congratulations!" Congratulations! The manager was also very excited (laughs).
I guess I have a connection with "lizards" this year... I had the opportunity to play a humanoid lizard in another film, but I think this is the first time in my life that I have voiced a lizard in the shape of a lizard, as I did this time.
The gecko is a meaningful role that speaks for the feelings of Nekko and Kikuko, so I played the role while being conscious of the inorganic feel of the creature, even though it is a living thing, so as not to add color to the dialogue.
When I played the role of the gecko, the director asked me to use an "ikebo" (good-looking voice) (laugh).
(Laughs) Please look forward to seeing the good-looking voice of Gecko.
(Laughs) Please look forward to the "handsome" Gecko.
