Switch "Monster Hunter Rise" sold more than 4 million units worldwide!

On March 29, 2021, Capcom announced that it has shipped 4 million units worldwide of its new "Monster Hunter Rise" title for Nintendo Switch.

The "Monster Hunter" series is a hunting action game in which players face off against huge monsters in a magnificent natural setting. The series has sold 66 million units (as of December 31, 2020) and has become a content that attracts attention from all over the world.


Monster Hunter Rise" is a completely new "Monster Hunter" for Nintendo Switch. This title utilizes Capcom's proprietary development engine "RE ENGINE" and was developed based on the concept of a new "Monster Hunter" that can be enjoyed anytime, anywhere, and with anyone.

New monsters and fields, of course, but also wall-running into steep cliffs, high-speed movement through the air and rocky areas, and a variety of dynamic new actions using the "Kakerimushi," which can even bind and control monsters. The new "Otomogaruku," a new dog-shaped otomo that runs on the hunter's back, will offer a completely new hunting experience. Prior to the game's release, the company twice distributed a demo version that allowed cooperative play via online and local communication, which was highly acclaimed and garnered much attention, resulting in sales of 4 million units.


In the "Monster Hunter" series, the company plans to introduce a new RPG "Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Doom" on July 9, 2021, which will be linked with "Monster Hunter Rise," as well as the series' first Hollywood movie "Monster Hunter The company also plans to launch the first Hollywood movie in the series, "Monster Hunter" in Japan on March 26, 2021, and to develop various measures to expand its brand value, including collaboration projects with a wide variety of companies in the apparel and character goods industries.
