harmoe, Happiara, NANASIS, Ogura Yui - This month we introduce the latest killer tunes of "Seiyu x Dance Music"! Seiyu Artists Bulletin March 2021

In this month's installment of "Seiyu Artists' Works", we will review the works by voice actors released in the current month, and for March 2021, we will introduce four works from the perspective of "voice actor music x dance music", starting with "harmoe" introduced at the beginning of this article.

Harmoe's debut single "Kimagure Tic-Tac

Harmoe is a new unit consisting of Yoooi Iwata and Moeka Koizumi. This year marks the third year for the unit, which has a TV program "Yooi Iwata and Moeka Koizumi: As You Like It, As You Feel It! and "D4DJ," as well as "Girl Scouts: Revue Starlight" and "D4DJ.

Their musical concept is to "transmit the world of 'fairy tales' to the world with comfortable dance-pop music that is just like watching a stage play or an anime, The single is based on the theme of "Alice in Wonderland" and features trackmaker Tomggg as sound producer.

Tomggg is the man behind "Endless Journey," a song related to the anime "Shoujo Saikatsu Ryoko" and "Hagurete Kotori to Yomei no Sora" by Ai Nakajima, among others. His specialty is a sound framework that can be broadly described as "kawaii," which includes soft, fluffy synths and drum machine kicks that bring a sense of comfort, similar to bedroom music. The title track, "Kimagure Tic-Tac" (lyrics by Bonjour Suzuki), is another song that is full of their style. Iwata-san and Koizumi-san were especially conscious of the "whispering degree" or "sasadoku," which is the degree of air in the singers' voices (see the interview in "Lisani! Vol. 43").

(Reference: Interview with "Lisani!" Vol. 43.) Also, although there are different degrees of this depending on the scene in the song, it is worth paying attention to the parts where Ms. Iwata gives a rounded attack to her vocalization to permeate Tomggg's dreamy beat, while Ms. Koizumi accentuates it with a dignified voice. In addition, the hook, in which the two singers sing the words at double speed, the speed of the hi-hat accelerates to a dizzying degree as the song progresses, and you can feel a level of passion rarely seen in dance music performed by voice actors.

The coupling tracks include the fairy-tale up-tune "Curiosity Palette" (lyrics by Bonjour Suzuki) and the gothic "Wonder girl" (lyrics and arrangements by the music unit KiWi). The live sound of marimbas and glockenspiels in these songs also make one feel as if the scenery in front of one's eyes rotates to reveal different expressions one after another.

To begin with, it is a rare case for a specific trackmaker to be involved in such a close-knit way with a voice-over artist's work. At the same time, Tomggg's originality and sound arrangement created a chemical reaction of such high quality that one would never have expected. Although Tomggg's future plans have yet to be revealed, harmoe is definitely a unit to keep an eye on.

Happy Around! 2nd single "SHUFFLE HEART BEAT

Happy Around! released their second single "SHUFFLE HEART BEAT" on March 17 from the DJ-themed media mix project "D4DJ. The title track is one that switches tracks at a dizzying pace right up to the chorus. The overall image of the song seems to be a patchwork of different patterns stitched together, ranging from EDM and rock to a more song-like approach. However, while the development of the song is anomalous, the chorus takes the royal pops route, and the balance of the song as a sing-along is excellent.

The coupling track, "HI~Y☆FORTUNE!" is based on EDM and hardcore techno, but has a Japanese taste that gives the song a "Miyabi" feel. The song is based on EDM and hardcore techno, but the Japanese-tinged sound of the song gives it a "miyabi" feel. The rasping rave horns and rewindings are fun and rushed in a good way, just like Happy Around!

As a side note, when soul or funk music is played after their work, it sounds awfully slow, but how fast is the BPM of the "D4DJ" music?

Tokyo 7th Sisters 4th album "IT'S A PERFECT BLUE

The 4th album "IT'S A PERFECT BLUE" was released on March 17 by the media mix contents "Tokyo 7th Sisters" (hereafter referred to as "Nanasis").

NANASIS" released a feature-length animated film in theaters this past February. Surprisingly, however, this is the first time in the series' seven-year history that a feature-length animated film like this one has been produced.

This work has now become an indispensable and popular work in the topic of voice-acted music x dance music in the late 2010s, and it has been beaten simply by the strength of its music and the quality of the scenario in the smartphone rhythm game.

Incidentally, recently, the aforementioned Happy Around! covered "Nanasis" songs in their one-man live performance, which also became a hot topic.

This album contains a collection of songs released in 2018 and after, with many new units being created around 2018, and this album is a massive album with a variety of old and new faces. From the perspective of dance music, there is "Ribbon," which has a sound feel similar to the early days of "777☆SISTERS," a unit in the play made up of the main characters, as well as rivals like The Chainsmokers, who make use of slight shifts in sound with drops and make extensive use of spatial effect synths. Ai-no-shizuku" by the unit "KARAKURI" is another example.

In addition, the new song "Shooting Sky" by the legendary unit "Seventh Sisters" and "Heaven's Rave" by the enemy unit "AXiS" were produced by Mr. kz (livetune), who has colored the turning point of "NANASYS" to date. Shooting Sky" is a digital pop song about the brightness of stars, similar to "Star☆Glitter," the original song of "NANASYS. On the other hand, "Heaven's Rave" is a super-aggressive song with a frenzied sound of trap, trance and rave, like a siren's roar, to transcend "Seventh Heaven," which became a representative song of Seventh Sisters.

◆Yui Ogura 13th single "Clear Morning

Yui Ogura's 13th single "Clear Morning" will be released on March 31. The title song is the theme song for the smartphone app game "Blue Archive -Blue Archive-" in which she plays the role of Shiroko.

The track is based on future bass, with a piano melody that spins introspective images, giving a moist impression.

What we want to keep in mind is the "sassiness," as described in the aforementioned "harmoe. Ms. Ogura's whispy voice, which is not too assertive until the middle of the song, seems to float gently over the track.

Then, as the song entered the drop and the sound pressure was amplified, her voice gradually became more and more present in line with the message of the lyrics.

The arrangement of the song is also skillfully done to make the future-based sound even more fantastic, with monologue-like interchanging choruses that make use of her cute character voice, which is backed by her experience.
