MAPPA x Netflix anime "Yasuke" releases teaser PV and main staff information!

The teaser PV, teaser art, and main staff information for the Netflix original anime series "Yasuke," which will be distributed exclusively worldwide from April 29, 2021, have been released.

Yasuke" is a Netflix original anime series consisting of six episodes. It is written, produced, and directed by Rashon Thomas, and is his second Netflix animated series, following his previous work "Canon Busters. Animation production will be handled by MAPPA, which has received high acclaim both domestically and internationally for its "Doro Hedoro," "Shinkage no Kyojin The Final Season," and "Jujutsu Kaisen. The character design is by Ken Koike ("LUPIN the Third: The Woman Named Fujiko Mine").

The main staff information has also been released. The chief animator is Satoshi Iwataki, chief director is Takeshi Sato, sub-character design is Kenichi Shima, world view design and art setting is Minoru Nishida, art director is Junichi Azuma, color designer is Azusa Sasaki, 3DCG director is Ikunori Nomoto, director of photography is Takayoshi Park, editor is Mutsumi Takemiya. The participation of the splendid staff involved in a number of popular animation productions has been revealed.

The cast includes actor Laquise Stanfield, who garnered attention at the 93rd Academy Awards with his nomination for Best Supporting Actor for "Judas and the Black Messiah," who will play Yasuke, and music by Flying Lotus, who has been nominated for a Grammy Award.
