Save PS5 Titles to USB Expansion Storage
This function allows PS5 titles to be migrated from the system storage to USB expansion storage. When you want to play the migrated game again, you can do so by copying the data to the main unit storage again. This is faster than re-downloading or installing from disk.

PS5 titles are designed to take full advantage of the ultra-fast SSD built into the console, so PS5 titles cannot be played directly from the USB expansion storage. It is also not possible to download PS5 titles directly to the USB expansion storage.
Games moved and copied from the USB expansion storage to the main unit storage will be automatically updated when updates are available. For some titles, it is possible to partially select the game mode (e.g., campaign or multiplayer) that you wish to install.

As previously announced, PS5 will support M.2 SSDs in the future. Preparations for this feature are underway and any updates will be announced as they become available.

New social features for PS4 and PS5 / Share Play support across generations
PS4 and PS5 users can now chat and share play together. This means that PS5 users can share their game screens with their PS4 friends in real time, or try out PS5 games on their PS4. Of course, conversely, PS4 users can also share their PS4 screens with their PS5 friends via Share Play.

You can share your PS4 screen, give your controller to a friend virtually and have them play for you, or use a second controller to enjoy cooperative play together.

■Request to join a game session
On PS5 and PS4, game sessions in which friends are playing that are available for participation are displayed, and users can now "request" to join. This eliminates the need to send game invitations, allowing you to enjoy games with your friends more quickly.
You can also change the list of users who can interact with you through parties, games, and messages from the privacy settings.

■Improved controls and personalization options in PS5/Improved game base
In the game base, you can now quickly access more important content and features. For example, tabs on the party and friends screens can now be quickly toggled to quickly view recently interacted with parties and online friends.
It is also possible to turn notifications on or off for each party in which you participate.

■Disabling In-Game Chat and Adjusting Player Volume
You can quickly disable ingame chat and turn off your own microphone and other players' audio. In addition, you can now adjust the chat volume of other players in the same chat. It is possible to adjust the volume of the microphone by yourself without having to ask your friends to change it.

■Pre-downloading of game updates
If "Auto Update" is enabled in the settings, when a developer enables pre-downloading of game update files, the pre-release game update files will be automatically downloaded to the device during rest mode or when the PS5 is started. This makes it possible to play the game immediately after the update is released.

■Customizing the game library
It is now possible to hide games specified in the game library, making it easier to find and personalize your favorite games from your own library.

■Zoom function
From the settings screen, you can now zoom in on the screen to your liking.

■New trophy screen and trophy acquisition summary
You can now choose which grade of trophy you want to save a screenshot or video clip of when you win a trophy. For example, you can choose to save a screenshot or video clip only when a Gold or Platinum trophy is earned.
You can also now view a summary of your trophy awards.

New features of the PlayStation App
In addition, there are many new features for the PlayStation App that allow users to stay connected to their console experience even remotely. The ability to save items to a wish list, receive notifications when friends come online, and the ability to change the console's online status on the app have recently been introduced.

More new features will be released in the coming weeks, including the ability to join PS5 multiplayer sessions from the app, manage PS5 console storage, compare trophy achievements with friends, and sort and filter products displayed in the PlayStation Store. The PS App will be available on the Google Play Store and on the PlayStation Store.
The PS App can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store and the App Store.
