Sumikko Gurashi the Movie: The Second Movie is "Blue Moonlight Night Mahou no Ko"! Screenplay by Reiko Yoshida of "Violet Evergarden"!

Sun-X has unveiled the title and teaser visual for the second "Sumikko Gurashi the Movie.

"For some reason, being in Sumikko makes me feel at home. Sumikko Gurashi" is a slightly negative but unique character. The worldview of Sumikko Gurashi has attracted not only children but also adults, and the first theatrical animation "Sumikko Gurashi: The Movie Sumikko Gurashi, the Picture Book and the Secret of Sumikko" attracted more than 1.2 million viewers! The gentle story of Sumikko and her friends in the world of picture books healed all of Japan.

In the fall of 2021, Sumi and her friends will return to movie theaters as "Sumi Sumikko Gurashi the Movie: Mahounoko of the Blue Moonlit Night.This time, the setting is the town where Sumikko and her friends live. On a blue moon night in their usual town, a mysterious story begins.

The second movie will be directed by Takahiro Omori of "Natsume Yuujinchou" fame and written by Reiko Yoshida of "Violet Evergarden" fame. The two, who have worked on numerous animated films together for the first time, have joined forces to create a new member of the Sumiko Nakama team. The animation production will be handled by Fan Works, Inc. as in the previous work.The warm touch depicts the Sumikko's life at their own pace.
