The HD remastered version of "Daijin Zekkei Version" is a new HD remastering of "Daijin" released for PS2 in 2006, with higher resolution graphics and various new elements. Set in a world of nostalgic and fantastic landscapes reminiscent of ancient Japan, the main character, the white wolf "Amaterasu," sets out on a journey to defeat the monster "Yamata-no-orochi," which has awakened from a 100-year sleep.

The game features Amaterasu's "Brush Shirabe" ability, which allows her to perform various miracles by running her brush, as well as the "three divine weapons" of "Kagami" (mirror), "Katadama" (jewel), and "Ken" (sword). The Nintendo Switch version of the game supports "Brush Shirabe" operations by drawing directly on the touchscreen or by gyro control using the Joy-Con. This allows for more intuitive play.
