Yoshimasa Hosoya has been cast as Merolo in the TV anime "Sacugan" (Director: Junichi Wada, Production: Satellite, to be broadcast in the fall of 2021).

Sakugan" is a mecha action adventure in which a genius girl, Memempu, and her father, Gaganbar, travel through an undeveloped area called "Labyrinth" and an underground city called "Colony" separated by a bedrock. Meloro, played by Mr. Hosoya, is an employee of the "Control Bureau" that manages the colony. He has a wide range of knowledge and is a rival to Gagamber, whose elegant demeanor is the complete opposite of Gagamber's. He is nicknamed "Niyakei Kemenyakuso" (?) and is regarded with alarm. He is also known as the "Niyakei Kemenyakuso" (grinning handsome guy).

In addition, "Sacugan" will be broadcasting a live broadcast special program, "Cho-Hunting Festival," at "Cho-Seiyu Matsuri 2021 Powered by dwango , Supported by Disney Plus," a specialized event for voice actors, to be held in conjunction with "Nico Nico Net Cho-Kaigi 2021" on April 24 (Sat.) and 25 (Sun.). The live broadcast of "Sacugan" will be aired at the "Cho-Hunting Festival. Kanon Amaki (Memempu), Hiroki Higashiji (Gagambar), and Yoshimasa Hosoya (Meroro) will appear on the program.

Yusuke Uemachi, general producer of Project ANIMA, and Sayuri Matsui, announcer of Bunka Hoso, will serve as MCs. They will "dig deep" into the charms of "Sakugan" and the characters of Memempu, Gagambar, and Meloro.

He always wears three matching suits and has a soft-spoken manner, but Gagamber is wary of him, calling him a "nyankei-kei-men bastard.

Since the majority of the dialogue in the production is more about explaining the situation than as a conversation, I personally did not have many moments to feel the true face of this character, but I felt that this was placed with the best of intentions. There are times when they have a small dialogue every now and then, and I'm glad they did. When I saw the background design and key visuals, I had the impression that they were elaborate, and I feel that they are going to be unique among the many animated works that are being broadcast.
