Rurouni Kenshin The Final / The Beginning" will be released on April 23 (Friday) and June 4 (Friday), 2021, respectively. A series of scene photos of "The Beginning" has been released.
Scenes from "Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning
Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning" depicts the turbulent end of the Tokugawa shogunate. The story takes place at the end of the Edo period, when Himura Kenshin was feared as Himura Battousai, the strongest manslayer without blood or tears, and was assassinated by Katsura Kogoro, the leader of the Choshu clan, the overthrowers of the shogunate. The film depicts the origin of Kenshin, completely overturning the gentle image of the "wanderer" Kenshin of the previous films in the series.
The scene photos that have arrived this time show the dangerous and beautiful Himura Battousai, a manslayer that no one has ever seen before; Tomoe Yukiyo, played by Masumi Arimura, who is destined to become his wife and be slain; Kogoro Katsura, played by Issei Takahashi; Soji Okita, played by Nijiro Murakami; and Hajime Saito, played by Yosuke Eguchi, and others. The film includes the appearance of Kogoro Katsura played by Issei Takahashi, Soji Okita played by Nijiro Murakami, and Hajime Saito played by Yosuke Eguchi.
Kenshin is seen at the scene of a manslaughter and decides to keep Tomoe by his side to keep her quiet. Although his true identity is shrouded in mystery, as they spend their days together, Tomoe asks Kenshin, who has nearly lost his mind through his daily killings as a manslayer, whether "the greater good really takes precedence over everything else," and gradually becomes an important figure to Kenshin. Tomoe is a beautiful and fragile figure with a tragic melancholy, but also a strong will and boundless tenderness.
On the other hand, we also see Kenshin trying to slay Tomoe. Why did Kenshin slay his beloved wife Tomoe? We cannot take our eyes off the fate of these two in "The Beginning.
The film also features scenes of warriors who fought for their lives, holding on to their beliefs to protect or change the times, including Kogoro Katsura, a samurai from the Choshu clan who would go on to become the "Battousai the Manslayer," and Hajime Saito, the leader of the Shinsengumi's third squadron, the Shogunate's ronin corps at the time. The photos of these warriors fighting for their lives, each holding on to their beliefs, whether to protect or change the times.
In addition, Kenshin is shown with a "serious" sword in his hand instead of a reverse-blade sword that cannot be cut, facing the Shinsengumi's first squad leader, Okita Soji, with a sword in his mouth and a crazy look on his face, and with a scar still on his cheek. The scene of Kenshin ruthlessly and mercilessly taking many lives as Battousai the Manslayer, even while spending his days with Tomoe, gives the audience an unprecedented sense of tension and power, and brings to the screen a "Kenshin that no one has ever seen.
Why did Himura Battousai, the manslayer, stop being a manslayer and pick up a reverse-blade sword? In "The Beginning," the final film in the series and the masterpiece of the series, the reason for Kenshin's "Unkillable Vow," which has never been revealed, is finally revealed.
The Final Story
Himura Kenshin was once feared as the "Battousai the Manslayer," but with the dawn of a new era, he has been leading a peaceful life with a reverse-blade sword (Sakabatou) that cannot be cut. After fighting to the death in an unprecedented battle to stop his worst enemy, Makoto Shizuo, from plotting to overthrow Japan, Kenshin and his friends were living peacefully at the Kamiya Dojo. However, someone suddenly launches a series of attacks on central Tokyo, endangering the lives of Kenshin and his friends. Who is really responsible? And for what purpose? The mystery of Kenshin's past, which has never been revealed before, is greatly related to the mystery of the crossed wounds that will never disappear.
