Space Battleship Yamato NEXT Star Blazers Λ" was launched by Comic Newtype in June last year under the slogan "A completely new 'Space Battleship Yamato'" and has been a hot topic on the web.
The long-awaited first and second volumes were finally released simultaneously on April 26 (Monday).

The attractive characters and magnificent world view are drawn by Ryutaka Azuma of "Tetsuwan Adam" fame.
The mechanical design is by Junichiro Tamamori, who also designed "Space Battleship Yamato 2199" and "Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love.

A little bit about the contents of the book

The year is 2100.
Humanity is attacked by an unknown giant life form, Sirenes, which suddenly appears from outer space.
The super-massive accelerator in satellite orbit, Dyaus, was destroyed, and approximately one billion people were killed.

Six years later, mankind built the Nafdis, a fleet with a space-time crystal body at its core, to counter the Sirenes.
Up to seven battleships had been completed, and the selection of the top nesses (exclusive crew members) was hurried.

Yu Yamato, a 12-year-old boy who lost his mother Maya, the head of research at Diyaus, in an accident six years earlier, is also recognized for his talent and visits Vimana, a frontline base on Jupiter.
There he meets a mysterious girl named Rinne, who for some reason calls out Yu's name even though they have never met before.

Suddenly, after six years of silence, Sirenes attacks.
Although he is only a cadet, Yoo is also sent to the "Mark 6," which boasts the strongest firepower of any battleship - the Yamato, as its top Ness..!
