Anime Writer's Choice: Theatrical Anime and 5 Web Animations to Enjoy at Home after the Declaration of Emergency is Lifted! Anime Column

We introduce three theater anime that you can enjoy when the state of emergency is lifted, and two web-distributed anime that you can enjoy from the comfort of your home! Shin Evangelion the Movie: ||" which has been completed after a quarter of a century since its TV anime broadcast, "Girls und Panzer: The Last Chapter Episode 3" which will celebrate its 10th anniversary next year, and the new Precure short "Tropical: The Movie" which marks the 18th year of the series! Pretty Cure Petit Tobikome! Collaboration♡ Dance Party! , "OBSOLETE," an original robot anime based on Gen Urobuchi's original plan, and "23:00 Saga Mei Anime," which is the talk of the town on Twitter.

Shin Evangelion the Movie:||

Farewell, all Evangelion. Contrary to the allure of "Farewell, All Evangelion," the scope of Evangelion shown in this film is infinitely narrow. Although there are scenes in the film that use images from the past, they are limited to anime only, and there is no reference to the games, pachinko games, or other works created by Evangelion. This seems to be a retreat from "Neon Genesis Evangelion: Air / Magokoro wo Kimini ni", in which even the slander of anime fans who gathered at the movie theater and on PC communications was incorporated into the film and made a part of Eva.
This idea was changed by the statement "This is the end of my Eva" made by Hideaki Anno, the general director, in a documentary program. Shin Eva" is only Hideaki Anno's farewell to Eva, but the Eva content itself is not over at all. It is obvious that "Farewell" is the most unreliable parting phrase for anime fans, not to mention "Farewell Space Battleship Yamato: The Warriors of Love". If that alluring phrase is a statement of determination not to be involved with Eva going forward, we should rather refer to "Saraba Aishiki Lupin yo" from "Lupin the Third". As is said in the film, "Good-bye is a spell to meet again," I look forward to the day when we can meet a new Eva.

Girls und Panzer: The Final Chapter, Episode 3

In the third episode of "Girls und Panzer: The Final Chapter," which began in December 2017, the match with Chihatan Academy, which appeared in the movie version, finally comes to an end. Set in a dense, overgrown late-night jungle, the members of Oarai Girls' Academy engage in a tank battle. The battle itself is interesting, but the tension created by the moment when the flares go up, the silence, and the danger of the action as they move out of the moving tanks and change seats is unforgettable. The dark screen due to the late-night time slot also makes this a film that should be seen in movie theaters.
In the TV anime and the movie version, the reason for riding the tank was to save the school from the danger of being closed down, but in the final chapter, the characters join forces for their own personal reasons, which is also a nice touch. After the battle for one's own survival is over, there is inevitably a concern that the story will be scaled down, but there is not the slightest hint of such concern in this work. Tsutomu Mizushima has consistently directed the series. The fact that the creator has depicted people rising from the dead in abandoned movie theaters, abandoned villages, decaying animation studios, and a wilderness that is no longer connected to the other world is probably what makes the "final chapter" so appealing.

The movie Tropical~Ju! Pretty Cure Petit Tobikome! Collaboration♡ Dance Party!

The new Pretty Cure of 2021, "Tropical~ju! Pretty Cure" makes its screen debut! Although it is a short film, it has a great impact. Although the members of the previous "Healing♥♥ Pretty Cure" movie received an invitation to a dance party, it was only three minutes before the party was to begin. The film depicts the action-packed journey to the venue, taking all possible precautions. Director Takashi Otsuka, who has also directed a short film in the "Pretty Cure All Stars" series in which all the Pretty Cure characters compete, is thrilled by the high tension and high speed of the battles.
The film, "Healttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt! GoGo! in which the members of "Yes! Pretty Cure 5," which has been active for two seasons since 2007, make an appearance. The unique feature of the second voice drama is that you can enjoy the story from their point of view, which is not depicted in the main story.

OBSOLETE

An original CG animation that shows how the balance of power in the world is drastically changed when the general-purpose robot Exoframe becomes available at a low price. Each episode depicts a battle in a different situation, and in the latter half of the series, Exoframe's range of activities gradually expands to include a mountain range shrouded in fog and deep waters where light cannot reach. Finally, it reaches outer space and is available at .......
This is a YouTube Originals title distributed exclusively by YouTube, and the comments on the distribution page are not only in English, but also in Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, and other languages, which is typical of the international flavor of this work. The original story and series composition is by Gen Urobuchi, who has just announced the production of "Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Walpurgis no Kaiten" (Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Walpurgis no Kaiten). Perhaps that is why the casting for the final episode was so surprising.

Saga Mei Anime at 23:00

A short animation produced by Saga Prefecture that was shown daily on Twitter in February 2021. As credited to "Starring: Saga's Rice," it features 10 of Saga Prefecture's famous products. The rich and creamy Takezaki oysters, the beautifully shiny Saga beef with its fine sashi, the Saga ramen noodles served with egg yolk, and more. ...... Although each episode is a very short film, lasting less than 20 seconds, they are all very appetizing.
The oyster meat dancing and the crab shells breaking open and the contents popping out on repeat make you feel like you are watching an effects animation, but it does not have the creepiness of Jan Švankmajer's work, even though it deals with the same ingredients. It fulfills its role as a PR animation. The official website explains both the ingredients and the anime. If you watch it together, your appetite for knowledge will be satisfied.
