Let's collect Nissan cars of the past! Try your hand at creating a diorama with "Nihon Meisha Club Vol. 11: Nissan Meisha Densetsu (Legend of Nissan SKYLINE)"! Shokugan-do Vol.20
Hello everyone! This is Kariyasu☆, a hobby writer. In this corner, I'll be reviewing, modifying, and playing around with some of the popular Shokugan toys and miniatures that interest me, under the theme of "Shokugan for adults. The 20th issue is "Nihon Meisha Club Vol.11 Nissan Meisha Densetsu SKYLINE", which is currently on sale from EFTIDS!
The "Japanese Meisha Club" is a popular series that allows you to collect 1/64 scale domestic cars of the past. The 11th volume of the series features two of Nissan's most famous cars, the "R33 GT-R V-spec" and the "Hard Top 2000 Turbo Intercooler RS-X"!
The kit is pre-colored and comes in a total of 8 randomly selected kits, each in 4 different colors. Assembly is only for the side mirrors, and the hood can be opened and closed. A display base and explanation card are also included.
What you need: Nippers, tweezers, adhesives for plastic models (we recommend using pouring adhesives to fix the side mirror parts after inserting them into the holes so that they will not come off and fall off).
The back side of the car body is also realistically reproduced!
R33 GT-R V-spec
This is the first model to appear in the Meikyaku Club and is nicknamed "Sun Sun". It was developed mainly for use in automobile racing, and is famous for its participation in the All-Japan GT Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. This kit is a type that is said to be a late model that appeared in 1997.

Hard Top 2000 Turbo Intercooler RS/X
This is the late model of the 6th generation Skyline R30, nicknamed "Tekkamen". There are various types, and while the DR30XFT type that appeared in 1983 was made into a kit in Vol. 2, this is the intercooler equipped type that appeared in 1984.

The coloring familiar from "Seibu Keisatsu" (Western Japan Police)!
Let's make a diorama!
Let's make a simple diorama by utilizing the included base! This time, we will reproduce two patterns: the ground and the parking lot.
First, mask off the side parts of the base, then apply Tamiya Texture Paint soil (brown) and road surface (dark gray) without making it too thick. There are other ways to express both the ground and asphalt using other materials, but I recommend using texture paint because it is the simplest and easiest.
[Production of a parking lot
Reproduce the white lines of the parking lot. This time, I wanted to make it look like it had deteriorated over time, so I used masking to create a guideline and then used a sponge to apply white color little by little.
I used Tamiya Weathering Master to reproduce dirt and tire scuff marks. I applied the weathering strongly, so the parking lot looked like it was getting old. Weathering is fun, so it is easy to overdo it, but be careful not to stain it too heavily or it will look like an abandoned building or a battlefield!
The ground is made.
I thought the color was too brown, so I used Mr. Weathering Color's Sandy Wash to lighten the color while leaving a little of the base. Of course, you can also use an airbrush to paint the gradation. And weeds are commercially available for dioramas. A dry-looking ground was created.
Completed! It will look all the cooler with just a light touch.
Let's enjoy various situations! If you are confident in your skills, you may want to repaint it in your favorite color or give it a rust paint job or damage expression to turn it into an abandoned car diorama.
Unfortunately, I did not have a chance to shoot outdoors on a nice day, so I took pictures in an indoor photo booth with a blue sky as a backdrop. Although indoor photography with photos lacks a little realism because of the lack of natural light, the advantage is that you can provide yourself with as many free backgrounds as you like. If you print out photos of European cityscapes and metropolitan highways at night, which are difficult to photograph on-site, and turn them into dioramas, you will be able to enjoy the feeling of driving at home!
So, how was it? We are looking forward to seeing which car models will be made into kits next. Well, we will see you again!
