Two winners will be chosen by lottery! The new Reaver that made the movie "PATLABOR" so exciting is now available as a kit! I tried to finish "MODEROID AV-X0 Zero" with all paints! The 32nd Weekend Plastic Model Kit by Taiyuki!

When you are a working adult, you tend to have a lot of plastic models piled up in your busy life. ...... In this series, Yasuyuki Tai, a voice actor who loves robots and plastic models, takes on the challenge of building plastic models on your behalf!

The concept is "even busy working people can make it this far on their weekends off. There are only two rules: bare bones assembly and a production period of one to two days! If you read this series, you will surely find the plastic model you want to build.

So, "Weekend Plastic Model Making by Voice Actor Taiyuki! Weekend Plastic Model! The 32nd issue has begun!

The 32nd MODEROID AV-X0 Zero

From the "Mobile Police Patlabor" series, which has been widely produced as a kit in the MODEROID series, comes a 1/60 scale model of the next main police raver "AV-X0 Zero," which looks like a "villain".

This kit is a popular Reaver that appeared in the movie "Mobile Police Patlabor the Movie" and left an impact with its sleek appearance and vicious fighting style. Please take a closer look.

On the front of the package, there is a standing figure of Zero and the word "BABEL. Please see the movie version to find out what these letters mean. On the side of the package is the "Mobile Police Patlabor" logo.

On the back is the "HOS" logo and a message taken from Genesis 11 of the Old Testament. See the movie version for more details!

Other gimmicks of this kit are also introduced.

The bottom and top surfaces have illustrations in different orientations. It's a kind design that can be displayed according to the convenience of the store.

The runner configuration is very clean. Of special note are the clear parts. Two types are included: pre-colored and colorless. Both bare-bones and painted types can be used without worry!

Water transfer decals are also included, and two types of model numbers are provided for attaching to the chest. This is also a great point.

As you can see, when everything is assembled. Decals have not been applied yet. The head can be assembled in two patterns: normal and runaway.

Look at the proportions! The proportions are perfect. The black and white body with red police lamps is typical of a police vehicle. The overall sharp design gives the impression of a "sophisticated new Patlabor" and at the same time, like the main character, Akira Izumino, it gives the impression of a "villainous" character.

The forearms are slightly longer than the normal human body shape, which emphasizes the sense of deformity. Is this the true reason for the "villain-like" impression?

This time, the clear parts of both shoulders and the camera are painted. Even without painting, the color scheme can be reproduced to this extent.

The head parts extending far backward are very impressive.

Smoother and slenderer legs than the Ingram series.

The covered parts of MODEROID's Patlabor joints are reproduced with molded plastic parts.

Range of motion of the head. Grizzly movable by double ball joints.

The shoulder armor is movable, so be careful not to put too much force on it accidentally, as you will be moving small parts.

Elbows can be bent approximately 90°. There is also a roll rotation axis slightly above the elbow. The wrists are connected with ball joints, so they are movable.

By pulling out the torso, the figure can be turned over on its side. Can be rotated slightly to the left and right at the waist.

Despite its simple structure, there is a roll axis on the thigh and the base of the hip joint can be moved up and down independently to the left and right, allowing for a high degree of freedom.

The knees can also be bent almost at right angles. The hip joint can swing back and forth 180 degrees.

The ankles are connected with ball joints. The ankle toes can be raised slightly.

Standing on one knee is also possible without difficulty.

Shield can be equipped with a joint and connected to the axis. Shield can be rotated on the axis.

Joints for connecting to " THE Simple Stand" (sold separately) can be attached to the back and bottom of the waist.

There are also a piercing hand and a slap hand on the wrist, and a saluting pose as if he were a police officer.

In the movie, there was no scene where he used his hand-held weapons, and he basically attacked with his piercing hands.

By attaching the hand and the extension arm, you can recreate the action in the play perfectly.

Shield equipped. The shield of the Zero is very large.

The head can be replaced with a runaway head.

The face of the robot is very important. Just by replacing the head, the impression is instantly changed. It looks more like a villain.

I think the impression of the stabbing hand also changes.

Reaver does not float like this, but he looks like a strong character with his expression.

This is the previously released "Type 98 AV Ingram Unit 1" (painted.) (pictured left).

There was a fight scene in which they were involved in a teasing fight. Both were damaged in the play.

This series is called "Weekend Plastic Model", and the concept is to do the work that can be done on weekends. And since the joints of the parts are not noticeable, I decided to take the plunge and paint the entire model.

I painted all the parts! I also applied decals, but even so, I could have finished it in plenty of time if I had spent a whole weekend.

This time, I painted it with pure white and EX black by Gaianotes, and neutral gray and surfacer by GSI Creos.

The white parts were also painted with white this time, although it is enough to paint the shield and the head.

Even without painting, it is better to coat them with clear to protect the decals.

Personally, I have an image of shiny Patlabor body, so I finished it with glossy clear.

Smear black on white parts and light gray on black parts.

The joint covers were painted with surfacer, then a brush coat of Mr. Weathering Color Shade Brown was applied, and after letting it dry fresh for a few minutes, I just wiped it off roughly with a Kimwipe. This area was finished with a matte finish.

The stand allows for stable posing. The effect of painting the shield is great.

It is a powerful shield, so it has a strong presence.

Whether or not Patlabor would pose like this, such heroic poses are also possible.

Very cool expression.

Poses with a sense of speed using the stand.

If you just want to display it, this kind of floating pose is also cool, regardless of the setting.

The head has been changed to a runaway state.

He looks like a russian boss.

Pipipipipipipi!

Finally, the first and second AV-98 models are shown together.

If they had actually been deployed, we might have seen a scene like this.

Since there is no need for difficult painting, you can try partial painting, even with a brush.

The MODEROID PATLABOR series will continue to be released one after another, including the Griffon, Peacemaker, and Reaver Carrier.

Let's keep an eye out for more in the future!
