The BANDAI NAMCO Group has launched "GUNDAM SEED PROJECT ignited," a new project for the "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" series, which will mark the 20th anniversary of its TV broadcast in 2022, mainly through the GUNDAM Project launched under its IP axis strategy.

The "GUNDAM SEED PROJECT ignited" will focus on the already announced production of theatrical works, as well as various "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" series projects around the world.
The project includes the installation of a life-size Freedom Gundam Gundam statue at the opening ceremony of the "Life-size Freedom Gundam standing statue" at the Lalaport Shanghai Jinqiao store in China on May 28, the "GUNDAM docks at Shanghai" held on the same day, and the development of a new game in the "Mobile Suit GUNDAM SEED" series. The company also announced plans for the serialization of the official Gundam SEED MSV "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED ECLIPSE" comic series and the development of Gundam plastic models.
The opening ceremony of the "life-size Freedom Gundam standing statue" will be broadcast on the official Gundam YouTube channel "Gundam Channel" in Japan and on the official YouTube channel "Gundaminfo Ch. Gundaminfo Ch." overseas.

About the "Life-size Freedom Gundam Standing Statue

The "life-size Freedom Gundam standing statue" is the first life-size Gundam standing statue outside Japan, and was installed in Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Shanghai Jinqiao, which opened in Shanghai, China, on April 28, 2021. The Freedom Gundam from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED," which is also popular overseas, was reproduced at the same scale as in the movie, with a head height of 18.03 m. It is the first full-scale standing Gundam statue with large wings on its back.

◆"GUNDAM docks at Shanghai
From May 28 to July 11, 2021, "GUNDAM docks at Shanghai," the first large-scale Gundam event in China, will be held at Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Shanghai Jinqiao.
