Whiskey with "Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045" label to be released in limited quantities on Monday, June 28!

On June 28, 2021 (Monday) at 12:00 noon, a limited edition whiskey with the "Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045" label will go on sale at "WHISKY MEW," a website specializing in whiskey.

Since the original comic "Ghost in the Shell: The Ghost in the Shell" (written by Masamune Shirow) first appeared in the May 1989 issue of "Young Magazine Kaizokuban," various works have been produced, including animation and Hollywood live-action films. With its radical and overwhelming worldview and visual expression, "Ghost in the Shell" is a milestone in near-future science fiction that has influenced creators around the world.

In April 2020, "Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045," a full-length 3DCG web animation, will be available on Netflix. The "Ghost in the Shell" is a story of a new future in 2045 in which the Public Security Section 9 "Ghost in the Shell" led by Motoko Kusanagi, a cyborg with a prosthetic body, is re-organized to fight against cyber crimes, and is gaining popularity around the world.

⇒The story depicts a new vision of the future in the year 2045 and is popular around the world! Interview with "Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045" Director Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki

Two types of whiskey will be released this time: Motoko & Tachikoma label and Motoko & Public Safety Section 9 label.

<The Motoko & Tachikoma label features a single malt from the Speyside region of Scotland, the distillery name of which has not been disclosed. Whiskey critic Hideo Yamaoka, who selected the whiskey, said, "I honestly don't know the distillery. It has no sulfur taste and must have been aged in very good sherry casks (sherry hogsheads)," he commented.

<The <Motoko & Kouan 9> label is a whiskey that was aged for 53 years in bourbon casks in 1966 with a distillate of about half malt and half grain whiskey, and bottled at cask strength. It is also very malty.

Why not take this opportunity to enjoy the mellow whiskey that has spun the history of the world while getting excited about the cyberpunk action of the near future?

<Tasting Comments
▼Secret Speyside 1993
Aroma: Freshly baked apple pie. Dried fruits such as prunes, dates, and raisins. Floral aromas appear when watered.

Flavor: Sweetness of brown sugar, acidity of dried fruits, and woodiness. The finish is pleasant and long. The hardness of the wine decreases with watering and becomes smoother.

Overall: For a dark-colored sherry cask whiskey, it is clean and transparent. There is no sulphurous taste at all. It is a proof of being aged in good quality sherry casks.

▼Blended Scotch 1966
Aroma: Vanilla ice cream sweetness. Canned pineapple. Varnished antique furniture. The aroma becomes intoxicating when watered.

Flavor: almond and toffee. Dried orange peel. Pleasant sweetness overtakes the woodiness. Tropical fruit on the finish.

Overall evaluation: At first the grain whisky is very assertive, but gradually the greatness of the Speyside malts distilled in the 60's comes out. Take your time and drink it straight.
