Celebrate the 100th GX-100! Report on the "Celebrate! GX-100! Commemorating the 100th Soul of Chogokin Special Exhibit," where a 2m40cm Gaiking welcomes you!

With its die-cast body and numerous gimmicks, the "Soul of Chogokin" toy brand continues to attract robot lovers around the world.

Starting with the "Soul of Chogokin GX-01 Mazinger Z" released in 1997, this series has developed over the past 24 years and has finally reached its 100th figure. To commemorate this milestone, the "Celebrate GX-100! Commemorating the 100th Soul of Chogokin " exhibition is being held at TAMASHII NATIONS TOKYO in Akihabara, Tokyo, from June 25 to July 25.

The highlight of the exhibition is the display of the 100th Soul of Chogokin product, "GX-100 Guy King & Daikuuma Ryu.
When you enter TAMASHII NATIONS TOKYO, you will be overwhelmed by what you are greeted with.

The eye-catching figures are the 2 meter 40 centimeter tall Gaiking and the Gokuuma Ryu, which has come through the wall.

And at the feet of the Giant Sky Dragon is the "GX-100 Gaiking & Giant Sky Dragon!

DADEEN!　It's huge! It's huge!
That's no wonder. Gaiking is the size of a regular Chogokin Souls robot, and the Daikuuma Ryu was made to fit the size of a regular Chogokin Soul robot. That's why it should be this size.

Incidentally, the 2-meter-plus Gaiking on display at the exhibition was created using the CAD data of the Gaiking Soul of Chogokin as-is. The fact that the figure does not look inadequate even when stretched to such a large size is a testament to how well the original design was crafted.
Indeed, no matter how you look at it, the finish is absolutely flawless.

When placed side by side, the huge size of the sculpture is clearly apparent.

The dinosaur squadron is also included. Even though the figure is small, it is well made!


An illustration of Gaiking that was previously drawn for a toy is also on display.


The "Soul of Chogokin" lineup up to date is also on display!
This is a sight to behold.




My personal highlight was the display of the original "Chogokin" Mazinger Z amidst a compilation of Mazinger Z variations.
