From "Ghost of Tsushima," "Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut" will be released for PS5/PS4 on August 20, 2021.

Released on July 17, 2020, "Ghost of Tsushima" is an open-world historical action adventure themed on the "Genko" invasion during the Kamakura period (1185-1333), which sold more than 6.5 million copies worldwide in March 2021. The game software has a dedicated overseas fan base, and a film adaptation is also in the works.

We have just learned that "Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut" is scheduled for release in Japan on August 20, 2021 (Friday).

This title will be a complete version of "Ghost of Tsushima" with various additional elements and the completely new story "壹岐之譚".

Pre-orders for the packaged version of this title are available at PlayStation retailers nationwide and various e-commerce sites, and the downloadable version is available at PlayStation Store (PS Store) from today, July 2, 2021.
*Owners of "Ghost of Tsushima" for PS4 can also enjoy "壹岐之譚" and other content by purchasing the "Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut" upgrade starting August 20 (Fri.).

Extensive contents

Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut" includes the main story of "Ghost of Tsushima", items that were previously only available as part of the PS4 Digital Deluxe Edition (*2), the online co-op mode "Legends" that was released as a major update, and the "Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut". Legends/Meijin Kitan (*3), the online co-op mode that was released as a major update, as well as the completely new story "壹岐之譚" and other additional elements.

In "Ichibanqi no Tan," a new story of the main character, Jin Sakai, unfolds on the all-new additional map "Ichibanqi. Jin hears rumors of a Mongol invasion and heads for "Iki," a town near Tsushima, where he becomes embroiled in a battle between the people of Iki and a new enemy. There Jin recalls the tragedy he once experienced .......

The new map "Iki" as well as new enemies, armor, challenges, techniques, wildlife, trophies, and various other content will be added along with the story.

The PS5 version includes additional elements that have been further developed from the PS4 version.

Dynamic 4K resolution play at up to 60 fps (*4)
Haptic feedback allows players to feel the impact of a slash or the speed of a horseback ride in their hands.
Adaptive triggering allows you to feel the resistance of the bow as it is drawn back to your fingers.
Lip-sync to match the Japanese audio, so the characters' mouth movements and dialogue are natural when played in Japanese.
4 A 4K compatible TV or display is required to play in 4K resolution.

Pre-order the downloadable version of "Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut" for PS5 or PS4 from the PS Store by Thursday, August 19, and you will receive the downloadable version of "Ghost of Tsushima" for PS4. This can be downloaded and played immediately after pre-ordering.
Therefore, those who have not yet played "Ghost of Tsushima" can start playing "Ghost of Tsushima" right away without waiting for the release of "Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut" on August 20 (Friday).
