What is "Mobile Police Patlabor"?
In the near future, in Tokyo, where the Reaver, a general-purpose humanoid work machine, has become widespread, a media mix project depicts the daily life and activities of the "robot policeman"-Special Vehicle Division 2-as they confront a new social threat called "Reaver Crime.
The project is called "Mobile Police Patlabor".
This work, created by the unit "HEADGEAR" formed by Masami Yuki, Yutaka Izubuchi, Kazunori Ito, Akemi Takada, and Mamoru Oshii, was highly acclaimed for its content, including its innovative perspective on robots as a system, its exquisite depiction of Tokyo, and its drama focusing on the daily lives of the characters, who are rich in personality. In 2018, the series celebrated its 30th anniversary, and numerous exhibitions and events were held to commemorate the occasion, which were a great success. With a new project, "PATLABOR EZY," also in the works, "PATLABOR" continues to attract significant attention.
