The detective is already dead. The latest volume 4 was released on November 25, 2020, and a comic book version by Mugiko has been serialized in "Monthly Comic Alive" since July 2020.
The TV anime adaptation is directed by Manabu Kurihara, Series composition is by Deko Akao, character design by Yousuke Ito, and animation production by ENGI.

Episode 2 "Now and Always, I Remember

＜Synopsis.

A year has passed since Kimizuka and Siesta parted ways. Kimizuka has been immersed in the lukewarm water called "everyday life". Then, a girl from his class, Natsunagi, comes to visit him. Natsunagi offers Kimizuka a request to find an unidentified person X.
In order to fulfill Natsunagi's request, Kimizuka asks police officer Kazayuki Kase for help. Kazanami takes him to a prison. Kimizuka is reunited with a bat with whom he once fought to the death.
