When you are a working adult, you tend to have a lot of plastic models piled up in your busy life. ...... In this series, Yasuyuki Tai, a voice actor who loves robots and plastic models, takes on the challenge of building plastic models on your behalf!

The concept is "even busy working people can make it this far on their weekends off. There are only two rules: bare bones assembly and a production period of one to two days! If you read this series, you will surely find the plastic model you want to build.

So, "Weekend Plastic Model Making by Voice Actor Taiyuki! Weekend Plastic Model! Let's start the 35th issue!

Vol. 35 SMART KIT Series 01 "Bumblebee

This time, we would like to introduce SMART KIT Series 01 "Bumblebee " imported and sold by Doyusha, a long-established model manufacturer, which is a first for us in this series!

This product is an imported kit, and was developed by an overseas manufacturer, TRUMPETER. This is a character kit from a manufacturer that has produced many scale models in the past, and we are sure that you will be surprised at the different finish!

Let's start with the packaging. The Bumblebee character from the "Transformers" series comes in various versions for each title, but this time it is the Bumblebee that transforms into the Volkswagen Beetle that appeared in the movie "Bumblebee". This time, it is a kit of the robot mode of Bumblebee.

On the side of the package, other friends from the movie are shown and their gimmicks are introduced. It would be nice to see more lineups in the future.

Although there are not that many runners, almost all of the parts that should require painting are pre-painted! In addition, there are parts that make you say, "How are these molded out? If you have ever touched a plastic model, you will understand how amazing it is.

Some of the runners are made of soft resin, allowing for smooth assembly.

You can also watch the assembly process on our YouTube channel "Taiyuki's Hobby.

The video also touches on points to be aware of because it is a live assembly, so I think it will be a good reference for you when you assemble it.

It took about 45 minutes to assemble .......

This is the degree of completion after straight assembly.

The bumpers, lamps, and other details that would make you dizzy if you tried to paint it yourself are already painted, and there is no protrusion at all. And it is so kind that no glue or nippers are required!

And the proportions are just right.

I can't tell you how many times I was surprised before reaching completion.

The headlights on the chest are reproduced by stickers with a three-dimensional effect. You can also see how finely the head is painted.

Both sides of the back door parts have been painted! It's a perfect figure!

The head is ball-jointed, so it is easy to move!

The head is connected with ball joints, so it can be moved freely.

The base of the shoulders are connected with double ball joints, allowing them to swing and rotate slightly.

The wrists are connected with shafts, so they can be rotated. The elbows can be rotated to the angle you see.

Hips are also axis-connected, so they can twist.

Hip joints can be widely opened front to back and left to right. Ankles are ball joint connected.

Toes can move up and down like this.

Roll rotation at the top of the thigh.

Knees can be bent approximately 90 degrees.

Optional parts such as blaster and battle mask head are also included. Let's try posing the figure with these parts and the movable body.

Let's start with a light and strong pose.

The waist can be twisted, making it easy to punch with great force.

Her ankles are strong like basketball shoes, so she can also perform a high kick.

He can also be posed kneeling down like this.

Connect the included pedestal to Bumblebee's hip joint for even more dynamic action.

Equip him with a battle mask, blaster, and more at ......

Shooting while backstepping!

Shooting from a sideways leap!

Bee coolly holds her sword.

The door on her back is also included in a folded form. When replaced with this one, Bee instantly becomes more adorable.

There was also a scene in the movie where she tries to sit on the sofa.

What can I say, the carefree pose suits Bumble Bee well.

But from an actual human viewpoint, the angle is very powerful.

This time, I decided to add a little more work to the finished figure, but since there are already painted parts, I used GSI Creos' Real Touch Brown1marker instead of using the GSI Creos' pouring-in smudging pen and eraser pen that I often use. Real Touch Brown 1", also by GSI Creos, is used.

All parts were painted with markers and wiped off with cotton swabs or Kimwipes, and finally sprayed with CREOS's canned spray "Water-based Top Coat Matte".

Now please take a look at the finished product.

To make it easier to see the difference between before and after painting, the wiping was done a little lightly. You can adjust the amount of wiping off as you like.

We were concerned about the effect of the Realtouch Marker on the soft resin parts, but after conducting painting experiments using the runner parts, we determined that the marker would not crack easily. We were not afraid to apply the weathering with the Realtouch markers.

The door on the back is easy to see, but when you wipe it off, you can see the wipe marks. If you wipe it off with gravity in mind, you will get a mark that looks like that, so please keep this in mind when you try weathering.

Even after weathering, Bee still looks cute in a haughty pose.

But when he does it, he does it!

He jumps at you and punches you!

Quickly close in and attack with the knife in his arm!

Acrobatic blaster using the pedestal!

Because of the perfect paint separation, the figure can be assembled straight and finished with just a single marker to create this atmosphere!

The pose of the main character is also perfect!

But Bee is still cute!

By the way, the insignia that can be attached to the pedestal is also included for the Decepticons. I have a feeling that the lineup will continue to increase, regardless of whether they are friend or foe.

So what do you think?

It's like an "action figure to assemble," easy to assemble and enjoy various poses of the "Bumblebee" plastic kits. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do!

This time, we would like to introduce the kits imported and released by Doyusha, but we would like to introduce the character kits by Doyusha in the next issue!

See you soon!
