Coloplast reports settlement of patent infringement lawsuit with Nintendo.

Coloplast announced that it has reached a settlement with Nintendo regarding a patent infringement lawsuit related to its "White Cat Project" game app for smart devices.

Under the terms of the settlement, Coloplast will pay Nintendo a settlement amount for the lawsuit, including future licenses for Nintendo's patents, and Nintendo will drop the lawsuit.

The other terms of the settlement cannot be disclosed due to confidentiality obligations. The following is the official announcement.

(Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Jun Baba; hereinafter "the Company") and Nintendo Corporation (hereinafter "Nintendo") announced today that they have settled a patent infringement lawsuit (Tokyo District Court, Case No. (wa) 43185 of 2017, Patent Infringement Injunction, etc.; hereinafter "the Lawsuit") concerning the Company's game application "Hakuneko Project" for smart devices. (Tokyo District Court, Case No. 2017 (wa) 43185, Patent Infringement Injunction, etc.; hereinafter referred to as the "Lawsuit").
The settlement includes the payment to Nintendo of a settlement amount for the Lawsuits, including future licenses for Nintendo's patents, and Nintendo's withdrawal of the Lawsuits.

The patents covered by the settlement are Japanese Patent No. 3734820, Japanese Patent No. 4262217, Japanese Patent No. 4010533, Japanese Patent No. 5595991, Japanese Patent No. 3637031 and Japanese Patent No. 6271692, which are related to the lawsuits.

Other terms of the settlement relating to this lawsuit cannot be disclosed due to confidentiality obligations, except for disclosure required by laws and regulations.
