This is a toy candy! We actually played with "Honehone-saurus Build Board Battle," a bargain product that combines a real board game and a plastic kit! Shokugan-do Vol. 23

Hello everyone! This is Kariyasu☆, a hobby writer. In this corner, I'll be reviewing, modifying, and playing around with the "Shokugan for Adults" theme, with items that interest me such as Shokugan, toy snacks, and miniatures. In this 23rd installment, I would like to introduce "Hone Hone Saurus Build Board Battle," which is currently on sale from Kabaya!

Since its appearance in 2002, the "Honehune Saurus" series has remained popular as one of Kabaya Foods' representative toy snacks, and now a toy snack product with a board game is finally available. The set includes a set of board games that can be enjoyed by 2 to 4 players without changing the elements of the existing kits that can be assembled and played!

Inside the box are,

1 Honehune-saurus (pre-colored plastic kit)

1 game board

8 cards of parts

20 battle cards

4 pieces

1 dice

One copy of the rules manual

The box contains 8 parts cards, 20 battle cards, 4 dice, and a rules manual, so you can play as soon as you open the box. The contents of the box can be seen from the outside, so there is no need to worry about doubling up.

First, let's take a look at the three kits!

Honnehonne Griffon

[Honnehonne Hydra

[Honnehonne Wyvern] [Honnehonne Wyvern] [Honnehonne Wyvern

Let's play the board game!

After assembling the kits, let's start playing the board game.

Game Outline

The game can be played by 2 to 4 players, and everything you need is included in the box, so all you need to do is call your friends and you can start playing right away.

The game takes place in three dangerous worlds where Honehuneosaurus sleeps in parts. Players race through trap-filled routes, competing with rivals for parts in an attempt to resurrect the legendary Honehune-saurus. When all the parts have been found, the Honehune-saurus will be resurrected on the board! The first player to get to the location of the revived parts wins the game, while dodging the occasional attack by a bad-tempered, sleepy Honehune-saurus! The game is available at .......

The features of the game are as follows,

The game features three maps, each with different contents.

Just by passing someone, a battle will occur! If you win, you can take away the other player's parts cards, so hot battles occur frequently.

The battle cards have power values and attributes, so you need to read and have intuition to win. And since they are disposable, you need to replenish them from time to time or you will be left with a poor situation....

Parts cards have effects that are advantageous to the game. In the final round, the more parts cards you have, the more advantageous you will be.

When all the parts cards are collected, the Hone Hone Saurus is completed in the final area! All players move to the final round, so the winner is not known until the end.

The game is like this. What a great way to build up the Honehune-saurus as the game progresses! While the "backgammon" format is familiar to parents and children, as well as those who do not play games regularly, the game contains elements that can be reversed, so you can play it with a sense of urgency and excitement until the very end!

Battle cards have "attributes" in addition to attack power! The part card is also a weapon to protect yourself.

World Introduction

The Fire World, where the dusty griffon sleeps. A forest of flames, a volcanic mountain pass, and a scorching corridor await adventurers!

The Thunder World, where the dusty hydra sleeps. Cut through the corridors of thunder and the caves of lightning to reach the goal!

Ice World, where the wyverns sleep. Can you make it through the corridor of blizzard and the sea of frozen trees?

And if you combine the three worlds, you can enjoy an even more expansive adventure in "Perfect World! Game" can be played! The game will randomly collect parts of the Honnehune Griffon, Honnehune Hydra, and Honnehune Wyvern to resurrect them, making it unpredictable and exciting what kind of Honnehonesaurus will be resurrected!

Let's have fun together!

Since it was a little lonely playing alone, I asked fellow modeler Oshio and Akiba Research Institute editor Mr. A to help me out and the three of us played the game together!

Left: Mr. Oshio

Oshio is a university student who loves dioramas of tanks and soldiers and games. He is the type of person who is more concerned with painting plastic models than assembling them.

First, we started the game in Fire World. The map is not large, so I thought the game would be over soon (......), but everyone had an unexpectedly hard time. We were caught in the Fire World trap of going around in circles in the same area, or being sent back to our original squares even after advancing.

However, as the parts cards gradually began to be collected, the tide turned and everyone entered the final round. In the end, Oshio, who had been the worst offender, made a huge comeback and the game ended! Instead of ending quickly, the battle was hotter than we had imagined and lasted for 45 minutes. ......

Then, the three maps were combined to form 《Perfect World Game》! game! We started with Ice World, but as expected ......, everyone struggled to move forward. However, I (Kariyasu) successfully got out of the trap, and we were able to make rapid progress with momentum. We fought well in the battle and moved on to the final round with a large number of parts cards in our possession, ending with a huge victory by an overwhelming margin!

The play time was about 60 minutes. Everyone felt like treasure hunters and had a great time!

Me exchanging battle cards with Mr. A. To win in this game, the element of luck is also important!

There is a perfect balance between the elements of strategy and luck, and everyone has a chance to win until the very last minute. They also look out for the child who is about to lose so that they don't cry. This is the kind of workmanship that is characteristic of the game designer, Mr. Tsugao Nomura (Route Eleven). Mr. Nomura is a veteran of many board games over the years, including the "Party Joy" series of board games released by Bandai in the 1980s and 1990s, so we are satisfied with the result.

Lastly, we would like to show you an example of a game made by freely combining the Honnehonne Griffon, Honnehonne Hydra, and Honnehonne Wyvern. Let's complete your own unique Honehune Saurus by freely combining the parts!

How was it? It's a great deal to be able to enjoy both a kit that you assemble by yourself and a board game where you roll the dice and move the pieces by yourself all at once! See you again soon!
