Oliva by Hochu Otsuka is just too cute! Report on the Netflix original anime "Hanma Baki" talk show featuring Nobunaga Shimazaki and Megumi Ban!

An official report from the "Hanma Baki" anime talk show held at the Human Trust Cinema Shibuya on July 8, 2021 (Thursday) has arrived.

The original "Baki" series, serialized in Akita Shoten's "Weekly Shonen Champion," depicts fighters' battles, centering on a mortal struggle between the youngest underground fighting champion, Baki Hanma, and his father, Yujiro Hanma, who is called "the strongest creature on earth. In 2018, the "Baki" Death Row Arc was released on Netflix, and in 2020, the "Baki" Great Suridai Sai Arc was released on Netflix and broadcast on TV.

In the fall of 2021, the third part "Hanma Baki" will be distributed on Netflix.

The official report from the anime "Hanma Baki" talk show held at the Human Trust Cinema Shibuya on July 8 (Thu.) has arrived.

The talk show featured Nobunaga Shimazaki playing the role of Hanma Baki, Yuki Yokoi from Akita Shoten, and Megumi Ban playing the role of Rumina Ayukawa, who was just announced on the day of the show. The key visual and PV were revealed, and the talk show also touched on the 30th anniversary project of the "Baki" series.

The "Hanma Baki" anime talk show was held at the Human Trust Cinema Shibuya in Tokyo on Thursday, July 8.

The talk show was held as part of a week-long screening event called "The First Martial Arts Anime Festival of Summer," and featured Nobunaga Shimazaki, who plays Baki Hanma, Megumi Ban, who plays Rumina Ayukawa, and Yuki Yokoi of Akita Shoten, who exchanged a number of deep conversations about the work.

Mr. Yokoi, a former editor of the "Baki" series who now belongs to Akita Shoten's advertising department, has complete confidence in Mr. Shimazaki, saying, "If I make a mistake during the recording, Mr. Shimazaki corrects me. From the start of the event, the two talked about "Baki" with detailed stories.

When the conversation turned to Shimazaki-san's first encounter with the "Baki" series, he recounted an episode from his junior high school days. Shimazaki, who belonged to the soft tennis club, revealed that he became obsessed with "Baki" while reading a book that an older student brought to the club. He expressed his deep emotion and said, "I never thought I would be playing the role of Hanma Baki," and expressed his desire to someday play a scene in which Baki drinks Coke without carbonation (as he does in the first episode of "Grappler Baki," in which he does not play the role of Hanma Baki).

After talking about the 30th anniversary project of the original work, the key visual and PV of the new Netflix original anime series "Hanma Baki," which was announced to be distributed in 2021, were unveiled for the first time. At this point, Ms. Megumi Ban, who plays the role of Lumina Ayukawa, appeared as a surprise guest!　Ms. Ban said that since the new character Lumina only appeared in the beginning of the show, she wondered how many words she would speak. In fact, however, there was quite a lot of monologue, and "when I opened the script, I was surprised to see that it said 'Lumina, to write, mantis'," she recalls. Mr. Shimazaki also recalled that "Lumina talked all the time," and described the scene in which she appeared as being "in the same position as Ryusei Nakao (who played the announcer) in the previous series.

Mr. Ban also said that he was completely hooked on the "Baki" series, which he came into contact with through his appearance in the film. Before reading the book, he had an image that "people who like the 'Baki' series like to use the story to compare things," but on stage this day, he said, "I love 'Hanma Baki'!　It's a swamp I never imagined! It's a swamp I never imagined!

On the other hand, Mr. Shimazaki introduced the new series by saying, "I really like the 'Oyako Kenka Hen' because the parent-child feud that has been going on since 'Grappler Baki' reaches its conclusion," and added, "I get to fight Akio Otsuka (who plays Yujiro Hanma) and Yoshitada Otsuka (who plays Biscuit Oliva) as Baki. Just the fact that I get to fight with the amazing Mr. Otsuka and others is a heaven-sent feeling," he said. He was particularly impressed with the performance of Yoshitada Otsuka, who plays Oliva in the fierce battle with Bikkett Oliva in this film. In his closing remarks, Yokoi said, "As this is the 30th anniversary of the "Baki" series, we are going to make both the anime and the original story exciting, so I hope you enjoy it," and Ban thanked the audience, saying, "As Lumina, I never thought I would be invited to an event for the "Baki" series, so I am honored. I am new to the "Baki" series, but I felt that the series is filled with all the truths. I hope that those who are just starting out from this point will watch the anime.

In response to Mr. Ban's words, Mr. Shimazaki said, "I think the reason why the 'Baki' series is loved not only in Japan but around the world is because it has a truth that transcends language, country, and so on. It is very persuasive. He also commented on the new series, "Oliva by Yoshitada (Otsuka) is the best. I believe that we will be able to deliver the "Oyako Kenka Hen" to everyone until the end, although it will be a little while before that. <Synopsis
Having grown up through numerous mortal battles with powerful enemies, the time is ripe for Baki to face off against his father, Yujiro Hanma, who is said to be the strongest creature on earth. He decides to fight Biscuit Oliva, aka Mr. Unchain, as a suitable sparring partner before fighting Yujiro.
