Wake up that spirit! Easy metallic paint job adds even more charm to the kit! Plastic model "Figure-rise Standard Kamen Rider Agito Grand Form" editorial review!

The early "Heisei Rider" series is attractive for its serious and realistic drama. Among them, "Masked Rider Agito" is one of my personal favorites.

This work follows the first "Heisei Rider" series, "Masked Rider Kuuga," and is centered on Masked Rider Agito, in which the main character, Shoichi Tsugami, transforms into Masked Rider Agito, and the drama of three riders, Makoto Hikawa, who wears the power-suited Masked Rider G3 developed by the Metropolitan Police Department, and Ryo Asihara, who was awakened to Masked Rider Girus after a traffic accident. Ryo, who awakened to Masked Rider Girus after a traffic accident.

From "Masked Rider Agito," which in a sense was a pioneer of the later multiple rider line, the "Masked Rider Agito Grand Form" has been made into a plastic model in the "Figure-rise Standard" series by BANDAI SPIRITS! This time, the Akiba Research Institute editorial department would like to thoroughly review its appeal.

Wake up that soul!

First, let's take a look at the box!

The cross horns are deployed, and Agito looks very cool! Yes, the unique hand posture of Agito is impressive, isn't it? The illustration perfectly captures the characteristics of the work and the character.

Next, let's take a look at the contents.

The parts are standard for a Rider kit. However, it is actually designed in such a great way that the coloring can be reproduced almost exactly as it was in the original settings using only molded colors.

And, what is worth mentioning is ......

The gold-plated parts! The slightly matte, subdued plating gives the parts a luxurious shine.

Stickers are included. The black parts of the eyes and the edge of the eyes. The black parts of the eyes and the orbs on the forehead are also included.

Now let's assemble it quickly.

It takes about one and a half hours to build. It is so easy to assemble, but it is so complete! What do you think?

Clear parts are used for the eyes, belt, etc., to realistically reproduce the texture of the suit.

Next, the cross horns are deployed!

The deployment of the horn is reproduced by replacing parts.

The gimmick of opening the horns on the head to increase the number of horns is based on the power-up plan drawn by the late Shotaro Ishinomori when he created "Masked Rider Stronghold".

It seems that the Showa Rider's royal road feeling and the Heisei Rider's new generation feeling coexist, perhaps because of this behind-the-scenes story.

Anyway, the charm of the Rider that connects the two eras has been perfectly sculpted into a figure!

Next, let's take a look at the movable parts.

The shoulders can be raised 90 degrees to the side.

The shoulders can also be swung back and forth with a ball joint connection.

The elbows can be bent as far as the human body.

Poses like this are also possible!

The face can be moved up and down like this. The chin can be pulled back to create a slumped-over look.

The waist has two movable parts, allowing the figure to be tilted forward.

The structure is similar to the waist bending mechanism of Gundam Model Kits such as "HG 1/144 Messer".

The legs can be opened almost 180 degrees. The legs can be spread wide, allowing for a variety of action poses.

She can even sit on her haunches.

Three types of hand parts are provided: a grip hand, an open hand, and a hand with an expression.

Using these gimmicks, you can pose her for a moment!

Kuu~~~! So cool!

This finish is achieved just by assembling the figure! It's fantastic!

This article does not end here at .......

Let's take this kit, which has a high degree of perfection even by itself, and take it one rank higher with one more step.

As mentioned earlier, the gold parts in this kit are plated and painted, but the silver parts are reproduced in molded colors.

As is the fate of metallic molded parts, weld lines (stripes created when the material flows into the mold) are inevitably created during the manufacturing process at the factory.

The red circle is the weld line.

If you are not conscious of it, it does not bother you so much, but once you start noticing it, it will inevitably bother you! Weld lines are such an existence.

Another thing that bothers me is the gate marks that are created when the parts are separated from the runner.

If the parts are not undergated, the color of the gate marks will inevitably differ from the rest of the parts.

Weld lines and gate marks are circled in red.

Let's try to make these "very small but annoying" parts as inconspicuous as possible this time.

This time, we prepared "Gundam Marker Airbrush System". This is a strong ally of beginner modelers who can easily spray paint by simply setting the Gundam Marker on the airbrush.

Set "Gundam Marker EX Shine Silver" to the airbrush and paint the silver parts. Compared to the regular "Gundam Marker Silver," this Shine Silver is a gem that can be expected to have a more metallic luster, so let's see how it works.

Here is a partially painted piece.

The gate marks and weld lines are nicely hidden.

The metallic texture has been increased and the gold and silver parts seem to blend better, don't you think?

The metallic shine of the crusher part of the mask is irresistible!

So, let's take a look at the pose again!

The impressive pose from the main story is perfect.

And the cross horn deployment!

This product also comes with an effect part of the "crest of Agito" from the special move scene.

It is also possible to recreate the scene from the play like this.

In addition, a stand is also included. ......

It is also possible to display him in the classic Kamen Rider special move "Rider Kick"!

It is an item with very high play value.

Finally, as an added bonus, here is a side-by-side with Masked Rider Cougar.

At the planning stage, there was an idea to have Kuuga make a guest appearance in "Kamen Rider Agito. In the manga version of "Masked Rider Kuuga," which is currently serialized in "Shonen Heroes," both riders co-star, which is a very exciting development for fans, and I thought it would be fun to display them together (this is just an image, since this is a product of the visual work "Masked Rider Agito"). It would be fun to display it.

So, the "Figure-rise Standard Kamen Rider Agito Grand Form" is a figure that is easy to assemble, yet offers a very high level of sculpting quality and play value.

I would love to see the other forms of Agito continue in this vein, and I would also like to display other Masked Riders such as G3, Gyrs, and Another Agito as well!

Looking at the recent momentum of the "Figure-rise Standard," I can't help but feel that the company is determined to commercialize all Heisei Riders, so I guess I should have high hopes for them?

Please, BANDAI SPIRITS!
