Among his impressions of the preview,
I think it was very hard to make that one, so much so that I'm really praising it without giving it away. But straight away, I said to myself, "Arya can't lose! I'm going to stay here! I'm really happy that she didn't stray from her resolution to make the film. I wondered how they would do it with CG, but I had no complaints about that either. So when the staff came back after watching the preview, they sat down and said, "Oh, that was fun. That's the biggest compliment I can give.
He evaluated the film.
The film is liberated by the fact that it is CG instead of pencil," he said, giving his approval to Studio Ghibli's new attempt at 3DCG.

< Comment by Hayao Miyazaki
When I came across the children's book "Arya and the Witch," I thought it was such a great project.
Arya's cunning is not about being cunning.
It is something that everyone used to have and somehow lost.
It is something we need in order to live in these times.
