Anime "My Hero Academia" unveils key visual for "Villain Academia Arc" broadcast! Comments from Koki Uchiyama, who plays the role of Mamoru Shigaraki, have arrived!

My Hero Academia" began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014. The series has sold more than 50 million copies worldwide in 30 volumes, and the fifth season of the popular TV anime is currently airing every Saturday evening at 5:30 pm. The fifth season of the Hiroaka TV anime will begin with a new chapter, "Villain Academia Arc," which will air on August 21, 2021 (Saturday), and a key visual has been released in preparation for the broadcast.

The "Villain Academia Arc" is a unique episode in the Weekly Shonen Jump manga series and comics, and has been highly popular among readers of the original manga and Hiroaka fans. The story revolves around the members of the "Villain Coalition" led by the main enemy of the series, Musei Shigaraki, without the main hero characters, such as Deku, appearing in the story. The story is about the tremendous battles between Shigaraki and the "Xenomorph Liberation Army," an organization that tries to eliminate them as obstacles, and the fierce drama that unfolds, including the unknown pasts of the coalition members.

A key visual for this unique episode has been unveiled. The visual, drawn by Yoshihiko Umakoshi, who is in charge of character design, depicts the six members of the "Villain Alliance": Mourning Shigaraki, Dami, Togahimiko, Twice, Spinner, and Mr. Compress. In addition, the "My Villain Academia" logo, which is an arrangement of the "My Hero Academia" title logo, is also placed.

At the start of the broadcast of the "Villain Academia Arc," voice actor Koki Uchiyama, who plays the role of Shigaraki, said, "I never thought that a story in which enemies (villains) would be the main characters would unfold in such a spectacular manner. And finally, the secret of Shigaraki is revealed. I was shocked to know that he had such a past, and it was a tough job to express it, but I managed to do it. commented Mr. Uchiyama. It will be interesting to see how Uchiyama and the other members of the Alliance will perform in the film and what kind of animation will be created to depict them.

When the Heroaca anime started, I said in interviews that I would do my best to defeat all the heroes, so please support the villains as well. Finally, the secret of Shigaraki is revealed. I was shocked to know that he had such a past, and it was a tough job to express it, but I managed to do it.
