Heavy Fighter El-Gaim" is a work that was broadcast from 1984 to 1985. It is a work directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino, the successor to "Seisenji Dunbine" broadcast the previous year. It was a direct science fiction work, a complete change from the fantasy line. As a result of the use of many young staff members, it is also regarded as a work that breathed new life into robot animation. Many people, including Mamoru Nagano, who was in charge of both character and mechanical design, were selected for this work and continue to be active in the industry today.

<Synopsis.
The solar system Pentagona World consists of five planets surrounding the double sun Sands. On the remote planet Coam, there are two young men, Dava Mylord and Mirau Qiao, who left their homeland with high aspirations.
Although ruled by Poseidar, Pentagona World's politics are corrupt, and rebel armies have risen up in various parts of the world, resulting in constant warfare. Dava and his friends met or clashed with Fanelia Amu, a former bandit, and Gaboulet Gaboulet, who was also burning with the aspirations of the blue cloud, and came to know the reality of the Pentagona World. Dava, driving the heavy metal Elgaim, fights against Poseidal's forces, and eventually becomes the leader of the rebel army.
