Summer! The most! BARZAM Festival! I made "HG 1/144 BARZAM (A.O.Z RE-BOOT version)" & "HG 1/144 BARZAM Reign Captured Spec (A.O.Z RE-BOOT version)"! Taiyuki's Weekend Plastic Model No.36
When you are a working adult, you tend to have a lot of plastic models piled up in your busy life. ...... In this series, Yasuyuki Tai, a voice actor who loves robots and plastic models, takes on the challenge of building plastic models on your behalf!
The concept is "even busy working people can make it this far on their weekends off. There are only two rules: bare bones assembly and a production period of one to two days! If you read this series, you will surely find the plastic model you want to build.
So, "Weekend Plastic Model Making by Voice Actor Taiyuki! Weekend Plastic Model! Let's get started with the 36th issue!
Vol. 36 HG 1/144 BARZAM (A.O.Z RE-BOOT version) & "HG 1/144 BARZAM RESION CAPTURE SPEC (A.O.Z RE-BOOT version)
This is surprisingly my first Gunpla review! And the two items are "HG 1/144BARZAM (A.O.Z RE-BOOTversion) " and"HG 1/144 BARZAM RESION CAPTURE SPECIFICATION (A.O.Z RE-BOOTversion)", which are sold exclusively by Premium Bandai!
A.O.Z" stands for "ADVANCE OF Z", and refers to the "Mobile Suit Z Gundam" series currently being serialized on "Dengeki Hobby Web".
The two machines introduced here are kit products of the machine that appears in the manga and illustration work "A.O.Z Re-Boot Gundam Inle-Kuroosagi no Mitamu-" by Mr. Kenki Fujioka.
You can also see the setting illustration on the official site, so please take a look at that as well!
Let's start with the "HG 1/144 Barzam (A.O.Z RE-BOOT version)".
The package is monochromatic printing, symbolizing a Premium Bandai exclusive product.
There are not so many runners. The assembly time for me was about 2 hours.
Here is the finished product, which I assembled according to the instruction manual, including attaching the stickers.
Even though it is called "Barzam", it is a completely different kit from the "TV version".
The unique proportions of the BARZAM are its characteristic, but this kit has been stylishly arranged while retaining the image of the BARZAM.
Although it is different from the TV version, the chest of BARZAM can be seen from any angle.
The shape of each part, which originally had a strange balance, has been brought together in an interesting balance in a different direction.
The backpack and rear skirt have also been sharply arranged while inheriting the original design lines.
The "Primrose 2" separation gimmick was not included in the kit, but if you have the skill, why not try modifying it using these parts?
The mono eye is a clear part. The Vulcan pod on the head is detachable.
The head is connected with ball joints and is movable as you can see.
The base of the neck swings left and right, so you can slide the head left and right like this.
Shoulder joints swing forward and upward. Connections are ball-jointed, so they can be rotated.
The upper arm and elbow joints are ball-jointed and have a range of motion not usually found in MS.
The elbow joint is also double-jointed and can be bent this far.
The wrists and elbows are also ball-jointed and can be rotated.
The backpack can be raised.
The rear skirt, which is also the main wing of the Primrose 2, is also movable.
The cylinder of the torso can be extended and retracted in conjunction with the movement. This is an unusual gimmick for the "HG" brand. And since the chest is ball-joint connected, it can be rotated and tilted to the side.
Since the skirt armor is not present, the hip joints are quite flexible and movable despite their unique design. The swing function of the hip joints is very useful for posing.
The knees are double-jointed and can be bent deeply.
The connection between the knee and thigh of this barzam has a unique shape.
The thruster blocks on the shins can be bounced up significantly.
The ankles can be closed, or they can be bent far backward by springing up the thruster blocks on the shins.
It can also swing and rotate to the left and right.
Included weapons are a uniquely shaped beam rifle and two beam sabers, which are characteristic of Barzam. These are standard for a mass-production type MS.
Now, don't think of this BARZAM as just a mass-production type MS.
It can be posed in a very cool way, so please take a look!
First of all, the beam saber. The voluminous leg parts make for a powerful pose.
With two in hand, you'll forget that this is a mass-production machine.
The beam rifle is attached to the upper arm and held in the hand.
The unique stance of the rifle makes it clear that it is a Barzam rifle.
I wondered if the elbow could be bent since it is connected to the upper arm, but it could be bent even with the beam rifle equipped. It is amazing.
This is what it looks like when it is made to stand on one knee.
The action base connection is located on the underside of the lower back, which is a common feature on many Gundam models, but this kit has it on the back of the rear skirt of the lower back, which I personally think is a high point.
This is that Barzam! Isn't it so cool?
