TV anime "Blue Period" to start airing in October, additional character visuals and cast revealed! Cast comments have arrived!

New character visuals and cast information have been released from "Blue Period," whose TV anime is scheduled to air in October 2021.

Blue Period" is a manga by Tsubasa Yamaguchi serialized in Kodansha's "Monthly Afternoon" and won the Manga Grand Prize 2020. The TV anime will start airing in October 2021.

New character visuals and cast information have been released.

Ms. Yuki Wa will play the role of Mayu Ooba, a teacher at Tokyo Bijutsu Gakuin, the prep school Hachitora attends, while Ms. Emiri Touyama will play the role of Sae Okada, a classmate at the school, Mr. Taishi Murata will play Takuro Ishii, and Ms. Saori Onishi will play Hanako Sakuraba.

Mayu Ohba (CV: Yuuki Wa)

Mayu Ooba (CV: Yuki Wa) is an instructor at the art prep school attended by Hachitaro and his friends. She stands out due to her large size and loud voice. She teaches Hachitaro, who is a beginner in art, by using both "candy and whip" and dealing with her students, who are all peculiar in their own way. She is also a powerful mother raising three sons.

I am Kazuyuki, and I play the role of Mr. Oba!
I have been fighting alongside Hachitaro and his students through the dynamic and massive charm of Mr. Oba.
The fun of working with each other to create a single work of art, and the thrill of having unknown sensations brought out in you.
The tension and sense of accomplishment were so intense that I felt like I was going to get carried away every time we recorded.

Sae Okada (CV: Emiri Touyama)

A classmate at Hachitaro's art prep school. She is a classmate at Hachitaro's art prep school and is known for her wavy hair. She is applying to Joshibi University of Art and Design. She loves bones and gets excited when she sees animal skeletal specimens.

Takuro Ishii (CV: Taishi Murata)

Takuro Ishii is a classmate at Hachitaro's art prep school. Mr. Oba says he is "worried about his mentality" during the examinations. In addition to Tokyo University of the Arts, he is also applying to several other art universities.

The way the determination to make a living by painting and the realistic way it is portrayed is very sensitive...
I thought that if I could blend in without destroying the world of the work based on the balance of the surrounding cast, I could become a character that naturally exists there.
In the case of Mr. Ishii, the character development betrayed that sense in a good way.
I am grateful to the staff who accepted my performance and to Mr. Yamaguchi, the author of the original story.

Hanako Sakuraba (CV: Saori Onishi)

Hanako Sakuraba is a classmate at Hachitaro's art prep school. She is currently a second-year student at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, and wears a uniform that she doesn't mind getting dirty. Her personal clothes were given to her.

My name is Saori Onishi, and I will be playing the role of Hanako Sakuraba.
Sakuraba is a girl who doesn't talk much, but her feelings for her paintings are as strong as anyone else's. She doesn't stand out too much, but she is looking for a good look.
