The Kyoto-related creative group "CLAMP" will be selling collaborative products for the "Kyoto Yell Project," which aims to promote the industry of Kyoto, which has been affected by the Corona disaster! CLAMP" is a creative group consisting of four women: Kangetsu Igarashi, Nanase Okawa, Tsubaki Nekoi, and Mokona.

The group debuted in commercial magazines in 1989, and their well-known works include "Card Captor Sakura" and "xxxHOLiC." Their works have been published in more than 20 countries, including the United States, France, China, and Taiwan. The popular creative group is supported mainly by women in their 20s in various countries, and has sold more than 100 million copies of their works.


The city of Kyoto and CLAMP, a creative group associated with Kyoto, are implementing the "Kyoto Yell Project" to promote the industry in Kyoto, which has been affected by the Corona disaster! Mutsumi Okuno (Kyoto Yuzen)
Born in Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture. Graduated from Kyoto Seika University, Faculty of Art, Department of Japanese Studies.
Apprenticed at Takahashi Mineirai Studio in 2009, and became independent in 2006. Launched the kimono brand "Bleuet. Kimono for yourself" with the theme of jewelry and dresses, and participated in the KIMONO Project, which has attracted attention in Japan and abroad. She is currently a member of Kimura Dyeing Co., Ltd. and is active as a dyeing artist while also taking on the challenge of promoting kimono culture through "Otome no Kimono Nurie, Kimura no Hinagata" (Kimono Coloring for Otome Girls, Kimura's Hinagata) and other activities.

Maiko Muroi (Kyoto Cloisonne)
Born in Tokyo in 1988. Graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music with a B.F.A. in Crafts and M.F.A. in Engraving.
She joined Hiromi Art Ltd. in 2014. Studied under Hiromi Nomura and is engaged in manufacturing and selling products, mainly accessories that combine the traditional technique of wired cloisonne and engraving techniques.

■Yuka Yamaguchi (Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki ceramics)
She studied under Yoshimura Rakuiri, Doi Yoshio, and Shimizu Naoko.
She has been creating works by arranging various techniques of Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki.

Four companies that deal in traditional crafts

Amita MCF Corporation
Amita MCF is a metalworking manufacturer that handles the entire process of planning, designing, and manufacturing metal products, including company badges.
All processes, from mold making to pressing, polishing, and plating, are carried out at the company's factory in Kichijoin, Kyoto.
The company also produces cloisonne enamelware as one of the coloring techniques for metalworking products, and offers cloisonne enamelware products with beautiful, transparent colors unique to glass.

Onishi Tsune Shoten
Onishi Tsune Shoten was founded in the Meiji era (1868-1912) as a former knot dealer, and started the fan business in 1913. Under the company motto, "Bringing the traditional beauty of folding fans to modern life," the company focuses on developing new products that make use of the techniques and materials used in folding fans.
The company is committed to creating products that fit comfortably in the hand and can be used for a long time, and offers fans that combine the handiwork of skilled craftsmen with a modern sensibility.

Kyo Koma Jakkyu
The only workshop in Kyoto that carries on the tradition of Kyo-koma, a traditional handicraft of Kyoto. Kyo-koma originated in the Momoyama period (1573-1600) when women of the upper classes wrapped scraps of kimono around a core of bamboo or other materials, and were made using the traditional technique of wrapping cloth over and over. The company is committed to cherishing the culture of play and making kyokoma that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

■Shoen Kumihimo
Established in 1948 in Uji, Kyoto. The company is a retailer and wholesaler of miscellaneous goods using braided cords made mainly of silk. While collaborating with various manufacturers and receiving OEM orders, the company is making products for Japanese traditional clothing, decorations for shrines and temples, jewelry, fashion, interior decorations, etc., while searching for new roles for kumi-himo.
