When you are a working adult, you tend to have a lot of plastic models piled up in your busy life. ...... In this series, Yasuyuki Tai, a voice actor who loves robots and plastic models, takes on the challenge of building plastic models on your behalf!

The concept is "even busy working people can make it this far on their weekends off. There are only two rules: bare bones assembly and a production period of one to two days! Read this series and you will surely find the plastic model you want to build.

Vol. 37 MODEROID "Ikaruga

So, "Weekend Plastic Model Making by Voice Actor Taiyuki! Weekend Plastic Model! Weekend Plastic Modeling!

This time we will be introducing a model from Good Smile Company' s MODEROID series, which always surprises us with kits based on various works and contents, the Silhouette Knight " Ikaruga" (Icaruga) designed by Ernesti Echevarria, the main character of the TV anime "Knights & Magic," and boarded by her herself. Ikaruga" (Ikaruga).

Equipped with four arms on its back, this robot was feared as a "demon god" in the series. What kind of kit will it be?

First, the front of the package. It is illustrated by Hideki Tenjin himself at , who worked on the mechanical design. By the way, Mr. Tenjin also participated in the anime as a voice actor. I wish I could have been a part of it.

On the back, there is an introduction of the gimmick.

The packaging design is retailer-friendly, allowing the product to be displayed in any orientation: bottom, bottom, side, or side.

The number of runners is, well, there. Some parts, such as the face, are pre-painted.

What surprised me the most was the number of stickers! I think there are more than 100 stickers!

Let's take a look at what we have assembled!

It took a little over 4 hours to assemble. So far, it looks like a normal character kit, but it took about the same amount of time to apply the stickers.

Therefore, I recommend that you take your time and work on it over the weekend, using two days instead of just one day to assemble and apply the stickers all at once!

The sticker application was hard work, but its effect was outstanding! The magical patterns carved all over the body, which were so impressive in the play, is what silhouette night is all about! So, let's do our best to apply them!

The impressive patterns on the waist armor and other parts are all reproduced with stickers, but the stickers are so thin that their thickness is hardly noticeable, so the bumps are not that noticeable.

The four arms "Larfist", which are almost invisible from the front when folded, are also well reproduced.

The pattern around the waist armor is also reproduced with stickers.

The "Magus Jet Thruster, " a key component of Ikaruga's flight, is also color-coded with stickers.

By dividing the parts and attaching the stickers, you can complete the figure with a color scheme close to the image in the movie.

Without the stickers, the figure would be very simple, so although it is a bit of a challenge, we hope that you will do your best to complete the figure with the stickers as well.

Let's take a look at the range of motion. First of all, the neck is a little difficult to rotate, but it can be swiveled from side to side, elevated, and moved like a slide back and forth together with the movable base of the neck.

The arms are connected to the torso by a shaft and can rotate vertically. They can also be raised horizontally by nearly 90 degrees.

Roll rotation on the second arm.

Elbows are double-jointed and can bend this far.

The wrists are ball-joint connected, so they can rotate and snap. Can be replaced with the included flat hand or the wrist holding the weapon.

The waist is ball-jointed, so it can be tilted back and forth, left and right, and can even be twisted to the point of interference.

The base of the hip joint is connected with a ball joint. The legs can be opened forward and backward as shown, but the legs can only be opened to the left and right.

The hip joints can be swung as shown in the figure, and since it is a single part, if one leg moves forward, the other leg moves backward.

There is also a shaft hole right below the waist for connecting to "THESimple Stand" or any other display bases on the market.

So, even a flying pose is possible.

The side armor is connected to the legs by joints shaped like iron arrays, so it can rotate as well as swing back and forth.

The knees are double-jointed and can bend this far.

There is a roll axis around the thigh, but it cannot rotate 360° due to interference from armor.

The ankles are connected with ball joints. The toes can be lifted up.

The rahfist can of course be deployed.

It is connected to the torso by a shaft connection, and although it is a sub-arm, it can be moved quite freely.

And here are the other accessories. There are two sets of sodded cannons ( left and right wrists are integrated) and one set of flat hands.

Enjoy posing with these!

Of course, it is a cinch to make her stand while holding the sodded cannon.

Speaking of Ikaruga, one still has a strong impression of her quick aerial combat.

From her first appearance, she has been so strong that you can't help but say, "Hey, hey, hey, hey!" and "Hey, hey, hey, is it really that strong? It's so exciting!

All of the sodden cannons can also be reproduced in their legal firing form.

It would be nice to display them quietly in this impressive pose.

The action with the four sored cannons, which you don't usually see much of, is also a feature of this aircraft.

Rear view after deployment of the Rahfist. The aura of a demon god is in the air.

It charges at high speed while performing a legal strike!

What pose would you like it to take?

Now, the usual "a little bit of work", but this time, it will take quite a long time to complete the figure with no assembly, so I really only need to do a little bit of work.

First of all, I bought the items you see here.

Bond Deco Princess
・Swarovski Light Sapphire each size

It might be a little different from the setting, but I partially pasted these items.

Now please take a look.

There may not be much change to see it in a pull, but it is actually .......

Front of the shoulders and sides of the chest.

Knees.

Swarovski is glued to the magus jet thruster.

Unlike instant adhesives, Deco Princess does not cause the Swarovski to cloud over white, and it can be glued while maintaining its brilliance.

Although it does not change the appearance significantly, the subtle sparkling Swarovski accentuates the nobility of the demi-god.

If this kit had clear parts, this area would have been reproduced in clear, so I made this arrangement.

In the play, when the Magus Jet Thruster was used, it looked like it was blowing out a pale blue flame, so I incorporated Swarovski into the kit.

In the setting, the thruster probably looks like a normal rocket jet, but I thought it was just for atmosphere!

The decal application was a very tedious job, but to my surprise, there are "water-transfer decals " for the Ikaruga sold separately!

It is the nature of modelers to want to try their hand at applying decals when they hear that.

Someday, I would like to try applying the decals after painting the entire model, as if I were El-kun.

Ikaruga, psycho!
