Reservations for the Z GUNDAM Tin Cup "Hyakushiki" have started at "GUNDAM Cafe online".

The " Z GUNDAM Tin Cup 100 " (16,280 yen including tax, shipping and handling fee not included) is now available for pre-order at "GUNDAM Cafe online".

This is the 16th in the "Discovery-G" series, which promotes Japanese traditions and superior technology from the "Gundam Cafe," a base for disseminating information on "Mobile Suit Gundam.

This tin cup reproduces the head of the Hyakushiki from "Mobile Suit Z Gundam" using the technique of "Takaoka castings," a traditional craft of Toyama, which developed as a trading and industrial town of copper alloy castings when Maeda Toshinaga, the lord of the Kaga domain, invited seven founders to "Takaoka," and gold leaf paste, a traditional craft of Kanazawa.

Tin originated in the ancient Egyptian dynasty around 1500 B.C. and was introduced to Japan 1,300 years ago.
It is considered as valuable as gold and silver, and is housed as a treasure in the Shosoin Repository in Nara.
It is antibacterial, conducts heat well, is resistant to rust and corrosion, and has been used since ancient times as a "sake vessel" because it is said to mellow sake.

This time, the second version of the tin sake cup made by Takaoka Foundry, which has a history of more than 400 years, was designed with the head of the MS (Mobile Suit) Hyakushiki, which Quattro Vagina boards in "Mobile Suit Z Gundam" broadcast on TV in March 1985, and the face part was decorated with gold leaf. The collaboration between Takaoka Foundry and Kanazawa Kinpaku was realized.

The tin sake cup is handmade by craftsmen from Nosaku, a company founded in 1916 that has inherited the historical Takaoka casting technique, and Hakuichi, a Kanazawa gold leaf craftsman. The product will be delivered in December 2021.
