Suzu, a 17-year-old high school girl living in a rural town in Kochi, rich in nature, lives alone with her father after her mother died in an accident when she was young.

One day, her best friend invited her to join <U>, a virtual world on the Internet where more than 5 billion people around the world gather. ＜In <U>, one can create one's own alter ego, called an "As," and live a completely different life.
