The next life-size Gundam statue will be the new "Nu Gundam" & "Gundam Park Fukuoka" will be born in 2022! Announced at the 2nd Gundam Conference

Plans for a new Gundam standing statue were announced today, September 15, 2021, at the 2nd Gundam Conference.

The Gundam Project, a transversal project of the BANDAI NAMCO Group, held the "2nd Gundam Conference" today, with Chief Gundam Officer (CGO) Takashi Fujiwara, who is in charge of the group's Gundam business, on stage.


At this second conference, the "GUNDAM UNIVERSAL CENTURY DEVELOPMENT ACTION (GUDA)," a sustainable project that considers social issues through Gundam, will present the "Gunpla Recycling Project" and "Gundam Open Innovation. GUDA announced a new project in the field of education, the "GUNDAM Educational Program," as the third project following the "Gundam Open Innovation" and "Gundam Open Innovation.


The plan for a new life-size Gundam statue was also revealed.


In the spring of 2022, a life-size "ν (New) Gundam" statue will be installed in Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Fukuoka. The statue will be a new "RX-93ffν Gundam" based on the "RX-93ν Gundam" that appeared in the 1988 movie "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char of the Counterattack," which is popular not only in Japan but also worldwide. The model features long-range fin funnels and tricolor markings under the supervision of Yoshiyuki Tomino, the director of the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series.
Other fan-pleasing features are also planned!


In addition, a new spot called "Gundam Park Fukuoka" is being planned at Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Fukuoka, where visitors can experience the world of Gundam. This facility will be operated by Namco Bandai Amusement Inc. and BANDAI SPIRITS.


Gundam Park Fukuoka" will be a Gundam complex space that combines open space and entertainment facilities with Gundam elements, and will be the latest Gundam spot that has never been seen before. More details will be announced in the future, so please look forward to it.
