Anime Writer's Choice: 5 Noteworthy Anime Films for Fall 2021! Anime Column

We pick up some of the hottest anime for fall 2021, which will start soon, including Production I.G's original title "Princess Pirate," the latest in the popular series "Lupin III Part 6," "Blue Period," a coming-of-age ensemble drama from "Afternoon," "Weekly Shōnen Sunday's" school comedy "Mr. Furumi has a Comic Syndrome," and "The Pirate Princess," a comedy about a young boy who is a student at a school in Japan. Mr. Furumi is a commie" in "Weekly Shōnen Sunday". and the high-tension gag "Vampire Will Die Soon" from Weekly Shonen Champion.

Pirate Princess

Production I.G's original animation is an adventure story set in the 18th century. The main character is Fena, a young girl who is washed up on Shangri-La, an island of prostitutes and male whores, and is raised there. She runs away from the island before her first day of work, and is saved from her predicament by a young samurai named Sesshomaru, who sets her on a journey to solve the mystery of "Eden," the word left behind by her father.
In the character PV, Fena and the other characters were portrayed with rich expressions. Fena has long, beautiful hair, but in the video she is shown with a short cut, and one wonders how she came to cut her hair. The film is directed by Kazuto Nakazawa, who directed the animated parts of "B: The Beginning" and the live-action "Kill Bill" movie. The characters use a variety of weapons, including Japanese swords, rapiers, hammers, and long guns, and there will be plenty of battle scenes in the film.

Lupin the Third Part 6

The latest work in the 50th anniversary year of the TV anime broadcast. Each series of "Lupin" shows a different face, but this time the setting is London. This time, the story is set in London, where Lupin encounters the famous English detective Sherlock Holmes in a mystery. Kobayashi Kiyoshi, who has played Lupin's partner Daisuke Dimeji since the pilot film, will retire after this film. In the first episode, "EPISODE 0 -Jidai-," in which he will play the role for the last time, will be broadcast, and in the PV, Akio Otsuka, who took over the baton from Kobayashi, will be the first to voice Daimon.
Not to be missed are the splendid guest writers, including Masaki Tsuji, who has been writing scripts for more than half a century since the dawn of TV animation, and whose book "Masaki Tsuji's TV Anime Road" was published this year, and Mamoru Oshii, who was once involved in a Lupin movie project but never got around to making it happen. Masaki Tsuji made the encouraging comment, "Because it's 'Lupin' written by me, it's definitely interesting! and Mamoru Oshii made a meaningful comment, "I am grateful to the producers for their wise decision in adopting this script.

Blue Period

The PV features a touch of oil painting, which is Hachitora's major, and the blue color in the title is also eye-catching. It will be an opportunity to learn the rules and know-how of the art college entrance examination, which is very different from ordinary entrance examinations.
The second key visual features the work of artist Reki Yamaguchi in the background. The promotion of this art-themed work is also unique, as the special program immediately before the broadcast will feature Goro Yamada, an art critic who was once called an authority on buttocks studies. The hot original work, sometimes referred to as an art-oriented sports manga, will be made into a film.

Ms. Furumi is a communicator.

In this school comedy, a high school girl, Nitoshi Furumi, who is not good at communicating with others, struggles to achieve her dream of "making 100 friends" with the help of her very ordinary classmate, Hitoto Tadano. However, due to the school's motto of gathering unique students from high schools, the classmates are full of eccentric people who are not always easy to get along with. ......
The second PV starts with a scene where Tadano greets Furumi in the morning. The layout of the two, facing each other from the side, is well-defined, and Furumi's good posture and slender figure, with her back straight and straight, leave a strong impression on the viewer. On the other hand, the difference between the two is striking: when she is in public, she is so nervous that she is unable to utter even a word that makes sense. Although Furumi often speaks in writing, the anime seems to include a lot of onomatopoeia, so it will be interesting to see how the text is handled in the anime.

Vampires Die Soon

The anime adaptation of a gag manga about a vampire slayer, Ronald, and a higher vampire, Dralc, who happen to live under the same roof. Dralc is immortal, but very slender and frail, dying every time something happens, and in the second PV, he turns into ashes about 20 times in 100 seconds of footage, proving that the title is true. The role of Dralc is played by Jun Fukuyama, who has played many fast-talking characters, further accelerating the speed of the gags.
The film is set in Shin-Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. In the location scouting report on the official website, it is revealed that the original author, Itaru Bonnoki, and the series' composition writer, Yukie Sugawara, who has already written the script, also participated, which shows their enthusiasm for the work. One wonders how the famous landmarks of Shin-Yokohama will be depicted.
