Sunrise Festival 2021 REGENERATION, a screening event by Sunrise and NAMCO BANDAI Pictures, will start today, Friday, October 1, 2021, and run until Sunday, October 31, at three movie theaters in Shinjuku and Ikebukuro.

Sunrise Festival (Sunfest)" is an annual screening event that Sunrise has been holding in collaboration with movie theaters since 2010. Sunrise, which has been creating original IP (intellectual property such as characters) centering on animation for more than 40 years, has been showing its works at movie theaters every day, and the content, mixed with guest talk shows, has been enjoyed by many visitors.

The "Sunfest" will finally open today, October 1, 2021 (Fri.), and run through October 31 (Sun.) at three theaters in Tokyo: TOHO Cinemas Shinjuku, Shinjuku Piccadilly, and Grand Cinema Sunshine Ikebukuro.

A diverse lineup of films and a screening format unique to Sunfest

This year, the 11th year of the festival, will feature "Fang of the Sun Dougram," which marks the 40th anniversary of its broadcast, as well as popular works such as "Gintama," "Bren Powered," "Hebot! and the latest works such as "SCARLET NEXUS" and "The Heroic Wataru: The Seven Spirits of Ryujinmaru -Reunion-".

The "Mobile Suit Gundam" film trilogy will be screened in 4K for the first time, and "Love Live! μ's Live in Theater" will be screened in BESTIA, which combines a state-of-the-art laser projection system and 3D sound.

In addition, "Ongaku! ～Renaissance! Theme Song Shaka Shaka Shaka Cheering Screening" is a cheering screening program in which you can enjoy the OP/ED theme songs that you used to watch on TV in those days on the big screen with the cooperation of Sunrise Music, focusing on robot anime that Sunrise is proud of.

Admission presents include "14-color penlights," "special maracas penlights," "passion," and "a special maracas penlight! Special maracas penlights, Passion" will be distributed as an admission gift, allowing the audience to enjoy a new sense of togetherness in the theater.

Many splendid guests will take the stage!

Director Yoshiyuki Tomino will take the stage for the "Bren Powered" episode, director Ryosuke Takahashi and mechanical designer Kunio Okawara will take the stage for the "Document: Fang of the Sun Dougram" episode, and "Aikatsu Planet! series, director Mitsuo Fukuda, Junichi Kanemaru (Hayato Kazami) and Toshihiko Seki (Breed Kaga) will appear, in addition to director Yoshiyuki Tomino.

Sunfest Radio Re-Re-Re-Generation" is now being distributed on the YouTube Sunrise Channel as a pre-event festival.
The program features voice actor Ryutaro Okiayu, who was the navigator for last year's Sunfest, to help boost the excitement of this year's Sunfest, the first real Sunfest to be held in two years.
Hiroomi Iketani, in charge of Sunrise production, and Takanori Ito, GM of Namco Bandai Pictures' production department, are the guests for a deep talk.
