MASKED RIDER BLACK SUN" starts with a splendid staff including director Kazuya Shiraishi and Shinji Higuchi! A reboot of "Masked Rider BLACK" broadcast in 1987

The distribution work "Masked Rider BLACK SUN" announced at the "Masked Rider 50th Anniversary Project Announcement Conference" in 2021 is in full swing. The staff, comments, and support project were disclosed.

Among all the previous "MASKFACE RIDER" series, "MASKFACE RIDER BLACK" was created based on the concept of returning to the origin of "MASKFACE RIDER" (broadcasted from 1971 to 1973), and the tragic story of the main character who has a harsh fate is a fascinating one. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the birth of the original series, "KASAKURA RIDER BLACK" will be remade as a new TV program after a lapse of more than 30 years.

The film will be directed by Kazuya Shiraishi, the director of many major hits such as "Evil" and "The Lone Wolf's Blood Level 2", and will feature a new perspective on the 1987 "KASFREEDER BLACK" by director White White.

Izumi Takahashi, Masatsugu Higuchi, and Kiyotaka Taguchi have been chosen as the production staff.

The script for "KASUBAKURA RIDER BLACK SUN" was written by Izumi Takahashi, who has worked on films directed by Kazuya White such as "Evil" and "Hitoyo". The visual concept to maximize the charm of the masked riders and monsters will be directed by Makoto Higuchi, who has worked on many hit movies such as "Evangelion", "Shin Godzilla", which won the Best Director Award at the Japan Academy Awards, and "ATTACK ON TITAN". He has been involved in many hit movies such as the "Evangelion" series.

The special effects director will be Mr. Shinji Higuchi, who has directed "Ultraman X the Movie", "Our Ultraman" and "Evangelion". Our Ultraman", "Ultraman Z", and the latest Ultraman series "Ultraman Trigger". Together with director Kazuya White, the talented production team will make "KASUBAKURA RIDER BLACK SUN" the best film yet.

Izumi Takahashi
Born in 1973. Scriptwriter. Won the 37th Japan Academy Award for Best Screenplay for "Evil", which he co-directed with White. He worked with White on "Hitoyo" and "Sunny/32", and has written many screenplays in recent years, including "Asa ga Kuru" (selected for the "Of Official Selection 2020" at the Cannes International Film Festival) and "Tokyo Revengers".

Masatsugu Higuchi
Born in 1965. Film director and special effects director. Entered the film industry when he was involved in the design of the monster in "Godzilla" (1984). As a special effects director, he won a special prize at the Japan Academy Prize for special effects for "Gamera" (1995). He participated in the "Rebuild of Evangelion" series as a storyboard artist. He also directed "Shin Godzilla" (2016), which won the Best Director Award at the Japan Academy Prize together with Hideaki Anno.

When I saw that Director White was going to direct "Kamusaka Rider," I had a fantasy in my head that it was going to be great. As the person in charge of concept visuals for this film, I would like to reevaluate "modified humans and monsters" from scratch to find out why monsters are born and what this world would be like if it were a world of monsters. Please do not expect anything new.

Kiyotaka Soldermouth
Born in 1980. Film director and special effects director. He has directed many Ultraman series including "Ultraman X", "Ultraman Orb", and "Ultraman Z". Major works include "THE NEXT GENERATION - PATLABOR" and "YUEBE NO SAVOUR DANCER". His latest film "12 Maniac Workshop" will be released soon.
