The movie "The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Ai omochite desu ka" will be broadcast on BS12 Twelvi, a nationwide free-to-air broadcasting station, on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at 7:00 pm.

The movie adaptation of the popular TV series "The Super Dimension Fortress Macross. For the film adaptation, the story was completely rewritten and all new artwork was used. The character and mechanical settings have also been revamped, and the film is depicted in a more realistic and hard-hitting setting. The theme song "Ai oboete desu ka" sung by Mari Iijima was also a hit and appeared on TV singing programs.

＜Story
In the vast universe, two giant alien forces are battling it out. On the one side is the Zentraedi Army, an all-male force, and on the other side is the Meltrandi Army, an all-female force. The battle engulfed the earth as well. The space battleship Macross fought back against the sudden attack, but trouble caused it to fly out to the outer edge of the solar system and it lost the means to return to Earth. A city was formed within the MACROSS, and its citizens lived with their thoughts of Earth.
They are comforted by the singing voice of singer Lin Ming-mei. Minmei, who unexpectedly became a star, found her only emotional support in Ichijo Teruki, a pilot of the Joint Forces' Valkyrie Squadron. For Teru, too, Minmei was a comforting presence. On the other hand, while living on the same battlefield as his superior officer, Misa Hayase, Teru began to feel the budding of love. Between the love of Minmei and Misa, Teruki's heart wavers. In the midst of the fierce battle, MACROSS challenges the final battle with Minmei's song as its only weapon, gambling on the survival of the human race.
